Die is singular, dice is plural.
It's not really a question of what's everyday, glenn, that's simply the word for the object itself when not in a pair. |

Most people I know just use 'dice' for all situations. It is exactly about what is 'everyday' rather than what old books say. If you walked around correcting everyone that said 'who' where there should be a 'whom' you'd get some pretty funny looks. Words change usage over time and in different regions. |

I hear it, normal people saying it...not every day, but when someone is referring to one of the objects that are usually in a pair. |

Yeah, just about everyone I know uses "die". Those who don't are almost immediately corrected by someone else. |
