One can only hope.

Yep. Poverty and racism are hereby over.

I don't think so. Perhaps I am judging unfairly, but I think most in poverty see Obama as a Savior that will deliver them from poverty by spreading the wealth around, rather than inspire them to action...

This. The FEMA evacuees from Hurricane Ike who are still in my hotel think he's going to start throwing money out to the poor the second he enters office. They're all in for a rude awakening.

This question is racist, suggesting that most black people live in poverty. And no, he doesn't care about poor black people or ANY poor people for that matter. He doesn't even care enough to help out his own AUNT who lives in the slums of Boston. And I don't see how black people can be inspired by a man who, as even Jessie Jackson said has been "talking down to black people." That comment stemmed mostly by what he said around Father's Day, telling black fathers to stop slacking off and start taking care of their kids. As if no WHITE fathers are guilty of slacking off and turning their backs on their kids.

there are no racist questions cuz

only racist people who ask questions

dunno
11 yrs ago, 6 mos ago - Saturday 11/8/08 - 10:10:23 AM EST (GMT-5)
About as much as other black idols have inspired those in poverty to succeed...
11 yrs ago, 6 mos ago - Saturday 11/8/08 - 1:17:02 PM EST (GMT-5)
Obama will just sell out the blacks to suck the white establishment's dick.
11 yrs ago, 6 mos ago - Saturday 11/8/08 - 1:22:14 PM EST (GMT-5)
Perhaps. I think that now Barack Obama, a black American (technically mixed, but bear with me) has worked hard to become President of the United States of America, a title previously thought to be withheld to only non-minority men, we will see more doors opened in the future for minority members who have political ambitions.

Hopefully. That lesson should be applied to everyone who is in that type of situation.

We can hope he'll make some changes to help the inspired help themselves.

Er, no it doesn't. If I say "will males that rape women change their ways by ___" I'm not insinuating that all males rape women. Nor is the question insinuating that all or even most black people are poor. Reading comprehension: work on it.
11 yrs ago, 6 mos ago - Sunday 11/9/08 - 2:17:50 AM EST (GMT-5)
No, it still implies that most black people live in poverty, and that is false, they don't.
