My fiance is smarter in certain areas, and I'm smarter in others. He's great in web design, computers, technological stuff, electronics, etc. But I'm better in handling bills, paperwork, finances, health related stuff. And together, we make a great team :)

Why do people think grades are a good indicator of intelligence?

My S/O is brilliant at current events and looking at the big picture. I'm best at social graces and details. We'd probably score pretty close together on an IQ test, he'd likely be a few points higher than me. It doesn't bug me, it helps me to improve myself.

I don't and never have had another half...but most of the guys I've had relationships with are either equally as intelligent as me or intelligent in other areas.

Nope, not at all. Not a bit.

I have the book smarts. I read epically faster than him. He sucks with numbers. I remember stuff a lot more than him.
But he is such a better people person than I am.

Hmm, in some areas, yes, but in other things, no... we're good at different things, it's hard to say.

11 yrs ago, 7 mos ago - Wednesday 2/18/09 - 12:29:23 PM EST (GMT-5)
My fiance is smarter than I am, at least academically. He has a diploma from an Ivy League school; he had near perfect SAT scores; he can do complicated math that I can't even understand in his head.

But he can't run the washer and dryer or cook anything more complicated than boxed pasta and canned sauce, so it balances out.

Nobody is smarter than me!
11 yrs ago, 7 mos ago - Wednesday 2/18/09 - 1:50:33 PM EST (GMT-5)
Well he has two degrees and I have none. He also has a better memory and sense of direction and is a better cook and is more logical.

Haha, that's funny! And I'd think this would be true for most couples...You'd compliment each other's intelligence rather than being "smarter" or "dumber" than the other...
