Precisely.

If I were a member of the government, I would probably say yes, simply because "we need to monitor for terrorism flags" or something very similar. There are also those parents of MySpace skanks that don't won't strange and bizarre men to kidnap their children, which, as ridiculous as their behavior is, I must agree is justified.

For these reasons, I must urge an Affirmative ballot in today's debate.
(Sh*t, I've been debating too much lately).

I think it was a good idea to make the adult sites have the suffixe .xxx to their URL.

Otherwise, no.
But it should obey the laws of the country where the server is.

No, I don't.

As for the myspace thing... if parents are paranoid about their skanky daughters being kidnapped, they shouldn't raise their daughters to be skanks or should regulate their internet usage. A parent has no one to blame but themselves if their children come to harm from being left unmonitored online.

No. Everyone who goes online is free to do as they please (depending on where you are) and people need to take a little responsibility for their actions.

What kind of totalitarian f*ckwit would want to do that?

In certain ways, yes. In other ways, no.

NO! It´s great how it is!

Yes, the internet should be regulated, by PARENTS. I believe it would be a good idea for all cinema for adult viewing and adult sites to have a separate suffix, but each family should decide for themselves what will and will not be viewed in their homes. I'm all about personal responsibility.

I don't see any reason why it should be treated any differently in terms of regulation and censorship than any other broadcast medium or print media.
11 yrs ago, 9 mos ago - Saturday 1/19/08 - 9:03:52 AM EST (GMT-5)
how could you regulate all that cinema for adult viewing
11 yrs ago, 9 mos ago - Saturday 1/19/08 - 9:42:58 AM EST (GMT-5)
Regulated? No
Monitored for kiddie cinema for adult viewing and other illegal activity? Hell yes.
11 yrs ago, 7 mos ago - Wednesday 4/9/08 - 5:59:48 PM EST (GMT-5)
Simply no.
11 yrs ago, 7 mos ago - Wednesday 4/9/08 - 6:03:44 PM EST (GMT-5)
Like Abzurd, I'd like to see the cinema for adult viewing sites use the suffixe .xxx in their URL.

Other than that, leave it alone.

Sorry to break it to you guys, but the internet IS regulated.

Your ISP obeys laws passed by the government of the country you are living in.

Should it be regulated? Only to the extent that incitement to violence should be outlawed in whatever communication media you choose to use.

There is an item on Woman's Hour right now about outlawing pro-anorexia websites in France.

The government of that nation is working with ISPs to remove "pro-ana" sites.

That is "regulation" of the internet.
11 yrs ago, 2 mos ago - Friday 8/29/08 - 7:51:02 PM EST (GMT-5)
Hell no. If there are any rules it should just be about child cinema for adult viewingography and maybe music/movie sharing.
