No because I feel like I would need to wash fruit and things like that before I ate them. Too many hands reaching in and touching them...

Yes, but usually I'm trying to test them. Cherries, especially, can be mediocre or excellent, and for up to $10/lb, you want to know.
Besides, you're allowed to sample produce if you ask. The guys will literally pull out a knife and cut you a piece of fruit if it's something you've never heard of/tried.

Agreed.
Although, when I was in middle school, I used to take the "free" athletic ponytail holders that came with the regular ones. They were really hard to find to buy at the store, and the regular ponytail holders break too easily.
