Like the shot?

No I stick with my pill, makes me feel like my body is on a normal routine

12 yrs ago, 11 mos ago - Saturday 10/6/07 - 1:26:13 PM EST (GMT-5)
No, I don't think that's healthy. Women get their periods for a reason.
12 yrs ago, 11 mos ago - Saturday 10/6/07 - 1:27:37 PM EST (GMT-5)
What's funny is that 100 percent of men said yes.
12 yrs ago, 11 mos ago - Monday 10/8/07 - 3:31:19 PM EST (GMT-5)
I might think about it depending on the side effects, etc.

The human female body was made to bleed. Then (women who take birth control) they are suprised why they have blood clots. Umm you're suppose to bleed you dumb, stupid c*nt! But do I want my period, no. I hate it, but I won't stop bleeding because of it. Nature, for some strange reason made me bleed, so I'll just have my period. It's a nice idea, but no thanks.

I take the shot.

I haven't had a "real" period in 3ish years.

I say real, because I don't count the occasional spotting and what-not.

I will never take birth control again...no matter what shape or form. I've had a tough enough time getting fertile...like hell would I stop it now.

Same deal with me. Chemical methods are not good for you and it took a long time for my body to return to a state of normality sufficient enough to become pregnant. Since I've had all the kiddies I'm going to, I've had my tubes tied. Still get my period but I believe I'm better off than friends of mine who have that shot thing. I feel my body is healthier.

12 yrs ago, 11 mos ago - Thursday 10/11/07 - 8:20:46 PM EST (GMT-5)
No because that seems unhealthy and unnatural. And what if I would want kids in the future.
12 yrs ago, 11 mos ago - Thursday 10/11/07 - 8:23:06 PM EST (GMT-5)
No, I wouldn't. I know I want kids in my future. I'd consider taking it if it was 100% safe and healthy but when I was in an age where I wouldn't want any more children.

I'm not understanding why people assume everyone take this kind of birth control simply because they "don't want periods".

I take the Depo shot, because without it, I bleed so heavily - continuously, not just once a month - that to stop taking it means I have to have D&C's to clean out my uterus.

I've tried other forms of b/c, the ortho's, Yasmin, etc, and this is the only one that stopped the bleeding.

It was either settle with the shot or take more drastic measures to stop the bleeding, that may leave me infertile.

So this works until I decide I'm ready to get pregnant, then we'll see where I have to go from there.

I refuse to take hormonal birth control altogether. I don't think it's been tested enough to determine whether it's safe or not.
12 yrs ago, 9 mos ago - Monday 12/17/07 - 3:58:26 PM EST (GMT-5)
Oh God, PLEASE. I know I'll regret this is t-10-15 years, but they are quite a nuisance at times. The pain is unbearable.
12 yrs ago, 9 mos ago - Monday 12/17/07 - 3:59:59 PM EST (GMT-5)
No. I'd rather have some sort of normal cycle.
12 yrs ago, 8 mos ago - Saturday 1/19/08 - 11:02:20 AM EST (GMT-5)
Yeah, that'd actually be pretty nice.
12 yrs ago, 7 mos ago - Friday 2/8/08 - 5:48:38 PM EST (GMT-5)
I would love to.

Women get their periods because their unused uterine lining is shedding; that's all. The fact that our bodies naturally work a certain way doesn't necessarily mean that altering that would be dangerous.
12 yrs ago, 7 mos ago - Friday 2/8/08 - 6:52:43 PM EST (GMT-5)
In a heartbeat. I'd get them to take the stupid thing out if they'd let me, but no, I haven't had any kids yet, so I'm not allowed. Stupid sexist society.
12 yrs ago - Monday 8/25/08 - 8:15:51 AM EST (GMT-5)
NEVER AGAIN.
12 yrs ago - Monday 8/25/08 - 8:23:18 AM EST (GMT-5)
I'm not sure. I'm about to start taking birth control to regulate my period, as I've never had what you would call a "normal" one. At this point, I don't know much about birth control, so I don't know what the experience of never having a period would be like for me.
12 yrs ago - Friday 9/12/08 - 2:43:53 PM EST (GMT-5)
No, I can't do hormonal birth control - it messes with my emotions too much. And I think it's unnatural to not have your periods. They say it's safe but 20 years down the line maybe they'll realize it wasn't.

I got the Depo shot once and had my period for three months straight. Not just spotting - I literally bled for three months as if it was a normal period. That can't be good for you. So I didn't take it again. I use the Today Sponge.
12 yrs ago - Friday 9/12/08 - 3:14:33 PM EST (GMT-5)
As long as there were no side effects, i would totally take it for that reason.
12 yrs ago - Friday 9/12/08 - 3:29:22 PM EST (GMT-5)
Most likely.

I don't like my period. I don't want kids. Good deal.

Though, it would make me worry more that something be messing up down there and I'd probably freak.
12 yrs ago - Friday 9/12/08 - 7:09:57 PM EST (GMT-5)
I'd seriously consider it. Btw anyone on hormonal birth control doesn't actually have a period anyway. There's no uterine lining to shed so it's actually the body's reaction to not taking hormones.

I say that to say anyone who is against the depo pill who is already on birth control is already taking what amounts to a low dose of depo.
