No, I need it to travel to work.
12 yrs ago, 7 mos ago - Wednesday 8/22/07 - 12:16:36 PM EST (GMT-5)
No way. I love my car. I also use it for work, and to visit my family two states away.
12 yrs ago, 7 mos ago - Wednesday 8/22/07 - 12:17:39 PM EST (GMT-5)
Yes, I acctually do.
12 yrs ago, 7 mos ago - Wednesday 8/22/07 - 4:34:08 PM EST (GMT-5)
Honestly, probably not.
12 yrs ago, 7 mos ago - Wednesday 8/22/07 - 4:36:25 PM EST (GMT-5)
Yeah, I don't even have one.
12 yrs ago, 7 mos ago - Wednesday 8/22/07 - 4:39:32 PM EST (GMT-5)
I'm currently living without one, but a car would make life a lot easier.
12 yrs ago, 7 mos ago - Wednesday 8/22/07 - 5:13:07 PM EST (GMT-5)
Yes, and I would loose a lot of weight.
12 yrs ago, 7 mos ago - Wednesday 8/22/07 - 11:53:55 PM EST (GMT-5)
Yes, especially since I have never had one!
12 yrs ago, 7 mos ago - Thursday 8/23/07 - 12:02:15 AM EST (GMT-5)
22 and never even had a license, let alone a car. I walk a lot, and take public transit. Not quite as convenient, but sure cheaper.
12 yrs ago, 7 mos ago - Thursday 8/23/07 - 12:20:58 AM EST (GMT-5)
Only if I never left San Francisco.
12 yrs ago, 7 mos ago - Thursday 8/23/07 - 12:24:43 AM EST (GMT-5)
i live without a car. i either walk, take a bus, or get a ride from somebody. sometimes it's frustrating but usually i can get where i need to go without a problem.
12 yrs ago, 7 mos ago - Thursday 8/23/07 - 12:33:06 AM EST (GMT-5)
Sure, I guess so. I mean, I don't have a car right now, though my family does and I live with them. I walk to work and could go wherever I need to go by bus if I had to. Having a car is convenient though.
12 yrs ago, 7 mos ago - Thursday 8/23/07 - 1:43:11 AM EST (GMT-5)
Absolutely not. A friend and I were having this conversation yesteray...we cannot understand how those who live in areas where public transport is common cope with it. We concluded that must be what they are just accustomed to. Like...if I moved to a big city where taxis, subways, and other forms of public transport were common, and I couldn't have a car, I would not even want to live. Seriously, my car is my escape. It is so nice to be able to go out and get in it, with knowledge you can go anywhere you want to go at any time and not depend on someone else to get you there.
12 yrs ago, 7 mos ago - Thursday 8/23/07 - 2:02:40 AM EST (GMT-5)
20 miles is a long way to walk to work.
12 yrs ago, 7 mos ago - Friday 8/24/07 - 9:59:20 AM EST (GMT-5)
Not a chance, not even for a couple days.
12 yrs ago, 7 mos ago - Friday 8/24/07 - 10:14:51 AM EST (GMT-5)
i am doing and I work about 20 miles away--it's not the end of the world but made worse by the fact that many companies assume that everyone has a car.
12 yrs ago, 7 mos ago - Friday 8/24/07 - 10:18:12 AM EST (GMT-5)
No, I live 10 miles from the nearest town. There is obviously no public transportation that far out. There are no bike trails and the highway I live off of is extremely treacherous with lots of corners and hills. It's kind of sad to take my kids bike riding, we have to load the bikes up and drive somewhere else.

If I lived in town, I would probably ride my bike a lot more to do short errands, but I probably wouldn't ride it to work because I take my kid to school first.

'obviously' only works in that post if your council thinks the same way and doesn't provide transport

No, work is miles away as is the grocery store. The public transportation isn't too good here. I've heard its good in other cities in the US, and in some foreign cities its excellent, like Zurich.

No city council if there's no city.

12 yrs ago, 7 mos ago - Friday 8/24/07 - 12:09:45 PM EST (GMT-5)
Yeah, I already don't have one.
12 yrs ago, 7 mos ago - Friday 8/24/07 - 12:40:51 PM EST (GMT-5)
no, i drive EVERYWHERE
12 yrs ago, 7 mos ago - Friday 8/24/07 - 1:04:30 PM EST (GMT-5)
It's my independence, so no.
12 yrs ago, 7 mos ago - Friday 8/24/07 - 2:42:24 PM EST (GMT-5)
I suppose literally, I could. I can walk most places from here, except the grocery store but I could take a bus or taxi there. But it would really suck, I rely on my car a lot.
12 yrs ago, 7 mos ago - Saturday 8/25/07 - 4:21:18 AM EST (GMT-5)
Sure, ANYONE COULD. But its that fact that we're all lazy or think that its our only way to get to work. There are such things as bikes, and busses, and legs that you can walk on. So anybody could, we just dont.
