Yes. The mind is a series of electrochemical reactions.

Depends on what you mean by it. The brain is certainly real, as are the electrical impulses that create though. The abstract concept of self is trickier to pin down.

The brain itself and what occurs inside of it, and how it works are definitely real.

No. The brain is physically real because it can be observed (by scans and what-not) but the mind can not be observed (although some new research came out in the paper the other day claiming they've found new technology that can). This is why psychologists have to study the mind by other means, such as behaviour.

A series of electrical impulses, yes.

No. The brain is physically real, the mind is more ethereal I guess you would call it.

That's like saying an object in a computer program is real because it's a series of ones and zeroes stored in logic gates in a computer's memory chips.

The mind is brought about by things that are physically real. But the idea itself is abstract.

The brain and all of its functions, yes; the mind, however, is really percieved as a sort of [sub]conscious. This cannot be seen, measured, nor examined without consent - and that is if the person is truthful.

I want to cut someone's head open and see for myself.
