Early one Saturday afternoon in July 2003, I made a simple phone call to Margie Schoedinger, a Texas woman who filed a rape lawsuit against George W. Bush in December 2002. I expected to leave a message on a machine, so I was caught a little offguard when Schoedinger answered. She, too, sounded somewhat surprised I had called, saying she hadn't heard from many other reporters. But she talked to me for a few minutes about the legal action.

'I am still trying to prosecute [the lawsuit],' said Schoedinger, a 38-year-old African-American woman who lived in the Houston suburb of Missouri City. 'I want to get this matter settled and go on with my life.'

Well, Schoedinger hasn't gone on with her life. In fact, three months after I spoke to her, she died in an apparent suicide. And this matter remains unsettled....

Do you think the suicide of Margie Schoedinger, a Texas woman who filed a rape lawsuit against George W. Bush in December 2002, was really a suicide?

I have no idea. This is the first time I hear this. I don't know what to answer but there are so many things that governments hide that the people will never know the truth. It could be a murder that looks like suicide but it could also be a suicide. Some people have a lot of power and can use that power whenever something goes wrong.

Considering the fact that she still wanted justice(in the article from what the reporter said) and that she committed suicide didn't quite fit.

I can't say, the events of talking to the reporter, and her sudden death don't make sense. I've never heard of this either.

It's certainly odd.

Either this is all bullsh*t, or somebody really took the time to cover all of this up.

she's in a state between suicide and murder until someone observes her

Unless there's some evidence to suggest she was murdered, to suggest this was the case is nothing more than wild speculation.

I don't know. It just sounds like a bunch of BS to me.

nope, I think GW learned from Bill who in turn learned from Kennedy that you can make people go away when you are politically powerful.

I will need more information before I can answer.

It's plausible. It's worth wasting tax payer dollars on investigating.

It is surprising that it wasn't covered by the media more... I had never heard of it.

If a woman filed a rape charge about the president, it should have been all over the news.

If she filed the charge and there was no coverage of it, someone high up has been spending a lot of time and effort suppressing the story.

That same person could very easily arrange to suppress the 'originator' of the charges.
