Honestly... I have quite a bit of research to do between now and 2 yrs from now.

It's so early!

Its not that I want obama. It's that I dont want Hillary.
13 yrs ago, 9 mos ago - Saturday 12/23/06 - 10:40:42 AM EST (GMT-5)
Hmmm...
I too have to do a bit more research.

However awesome it would be, I don't think the US is quite ready for a Clinton/Obama or an Obama/Clinton ticket just yet.

obama scares me for some reason
13 yrs ago, 9 mos ago - Saturday 12/23/06 - 5:24:07 PM EST (GMT-5)
Clinton more than likely be the next president.
13 yrs ago, 9 mos ago - Saturday 12/23/06 - 5:27:16 PM EST (GMT-5)

Barack Obama? The son of a goat herder? I'd vote third part as always... but if I had to, I'd vote for the bitch over the dumbf&ck.
13 yrs ago, 9 mos ago - Wednesday 1/3/07 - 11:42:44 AM EST (GMT-5)
I'd be happy with either of them or with John McCain in the White House, but their winning against the Republican is not assured, so I think I'd prefer Obama get the nomination.

I have no idea who the guy is, so Clinton.
13 yrs ago, 9 mos ago - Thursday 1/4/07 - 3:56:28 AM EST (GMT-5)
Obama for sure. I don't think his race matters. Anyone who wouldn't vote for someone because they are half black would never vote Democrat in the first place.

I quite like Obama. I haven't done a lot of research into him, but he seems pretty solid to me.

Sounds to me like you need to do a little research on the son of a "goat herder."

13 yrs ago, 9 mos ago - Sunday 1/7/07 - 5:40:03 PM EST (GMT-5)
I'd vote for Obama.
13 yrs ago, 9 mos ago - Sunday 1/7/07 - 5:47:08 PM EST (GMT-5)
Obama has only been a senator for two years. It pisses me off that people think he is some kind of savior. Two years as a senator isn't enough experiance to be president. Don't trust everyone with a cute smile, it doesn't matter.
13 yrs ago, 9 mos ago - Sunday 1/7/07 - 5:50:43 PM EST (GMT-5)
kill me now if this is our list of choices for '08...
13 yrs ago, 9 mos ago - Sunday 1/7/07 - 5:58:24 PM EST (GMT-5)
Obama, I really liked his keynote address at the '04 Democratic National Convention, and how he supported the Earned Income Tax Credit.
13 yrs ago, 9 mos ago - Sunday 1/7/07 - 6:06:40 PM EST (GMT-5)
I would rather it was Hillary.

Just because you don't like him, doesn't mean I can't. I don't see what his father being a "goat herder" apparently, has to do with anything either. I read about him at wiki and have heard some of his speeches and I don't mind him in the least.

but he's a nobody... he has no political history... he's barely into his first term... there is nothing to base an opinion on...

sure he's likeable... but Jimmy Carter was a nice guy too... and he was a horrible President...
Nixon was a complete ass... and he was a great President...

13 yrs ago, 9 mos ago - Wednesday 1/10/07 - 3:21:56 PM EST (GMT-5)
It doesn't matter to me. I would vote for either one of them.

You don't see how lying about his fathers past on National Television has anything to do with anything? You don't see how calling his Grandfather "a domestic servant to the British" when was prominent and wealthy farmer within the British colonial system as a bad thing?

But, of course, it is your prerogative to continue voting for Presidents who have a problem telling such weak lies, so do what you want.

What I read never mentioned either of those things, when did he say that? Do you have a link, please?

Really? It was his first National Appearance:

"Tonight is a particular honor for me because, let's face it, my presence on this stage is pretty unlikely. My father was a foreign student, born and raised in a small village in Kenya. He grew up herding goats, went to school in a tin-roof shack. His father, my grandfather, was a cook, a domestic servant."

-Barack Obama at the Democratic National Convention
