14 yrs ago, 7 mos ago - Monday 7/24/06 - 1:01:43 AM EST (GMT-5)
I think most people in genral are feminists, whether they choose to classify themselves as such or not. So, the obvious answer is yes.
14 yrs ago, 7 mos ago - Monday 7/24/06 - 1:01:59 AM EST (GMT-5)
Yeah, gay men usually have no reason to believe in macho gender roles or inequality towards women. If anything gay men usually sympathize a lot with women because they are abused by a macho society, and women are usually very sympathetic to gay guys.
14 yrs ago, 7 mos ago - Monday 7/24/06 - 7:36:14 PM EST (GMT-5)
Not at all. Gay men can be mysoginistic too.

Agreed with all of the above, but I don't really see a connection between male homosexuality and feminism.

Some not all. Some gay men are "macho gay men."
But everyone should be a feminist! We are the better, stronger, more intelligent and socially conscious of others. Any man who admits that their female counter parts are better than them (and beautiful!) are real men.

Is the question that gay men are feminists, or effeminate? In my experience, gay men can be both or neither.
14 yrs ago, 7 mos ago - Monday 7/24/06 - 9:43:52 PM EST (GMT-5)
I don't think it's for sure, but often yes.

That is def. not a definition of feminism, though...there seems to be a lot of misconceptions as to what feminism really entails. Feminism in a nutshell involves the belief in equal rights for all regardless of sex, color, etc etc. It's not about one being better than the other.

I was going to point that out, too. Unfortunately, the nature of oppressed groups of people is that they tighten their ranks and rather than network with other groups of oppressed people, they practically treat each other like competition.

Not all gay men are feminists.

I, myself, can say I am a feminist and do fight for womens rights every once in a while.

i dont know any Gay persons but the famous ones i know aren't

Probably, but really most men (at least most men I know) are feminists, even if they don't use the term. It seems that gay men are more likely to use the term 'feminist' to describe themselves, though.

Same here. Is this a ridiculous attempt at implying that gay men are nothing but women in disguise?!

14 yrs ago, 2 mos ago - Wednesday 12/20/06 - 7:30:12 AM EST (GMT-5)
No... wtf...
14 yrs ago, 2 mos ago - Wednesday 12/20/06 - 9:04:06 AM EST (GMT-5)
I have no idea at all....maybe they are not. Most gay men are very masculine and handsome and it just happens that they like same sex.
14 yrs ago - Sunday 2/4/07 - 12:05:56 AM EST (GMT-5)
No. A homosexual man is still a man. Not all homosexual men are flitty flaming stereotypes.

Call me a misogynist but I disagree with that. Women aren't better by default.

I agree with that. I hate being called feminist, but by the definition of the term, I am. I just think it's wrong that something that's supposed to mean equality between the sexes is called "feminism."

Gay men seem to be even worse shovinests than stright men, don't they?
13 yrs ago, 8 mos ago - Saturday 5/26/07 - 3:28:18 PM EST (GMT-5)
i'd say misogynists.

I agree with Aburame here.
