(It's a generalisation and an assumption that all French people think the same.) ARRRGGGHHHH....Stereotypes are only true to those that believe them. This saying is relevant to both to the stereotyper and the stereotypee.

Nah. We Americans are, no doubt about it. Well, for the rude part that is. Canadians are probably the most boring. That's what Canada is, a boring version of America.

Well considering that I haven't many many French, or *all* the people in the world for that matter, I can't say.

No! The French were kind to me when I went, and France is a pretty wild country. Ironically, I think the British fit that category; they are rude, unfriendly, and dull.

Everyone knows the most boring people on Earth are orthodox monotheists, therefore I would cast my vote towards the Latvians or something like that. I really don't think the French are that bad, it's just a case of saying something over and over until it becomes accepted truth, politicians do this all the time, it's how Gore got labeled a liar and Kerry a flip-flopper, neither ever did such a thing, but you say it enough and people really only remember the last thing they heard.

I've been to French towns several times (the real France, that is, not the tourist hotspots) and whilst they're not boring people, they tend to be a little bit rude in most cases. Although that's probably just the French culture, and as an outsider it seems rude to us, just as our customs could appear rude/over-friendly to others. But then.. this is a British poll and I'm sure many people voted against the French simply because it's almost the law to dislike the French in Britain..

A BRITISH poll? Big surprise, that is. I've never been to France, so I really couldn't say anything about the French people. The closest I've ever been is meeting French-speaking people in Canada, and I bet that doesn't count. Anyway, I think that Americans are the dullest people. Most people are pretty blah. I don't think they're the rudest, but I'm clueless as to what country I'd nominate for *that* title.

The British WOULD say this because they live so close to France and have a long, agressive history with them. As well, not many Brits venture very far abroad. There IS a nationality I find ruder and more boring than the French.

I love the French! For a start, they're not a bunch of whiny pussies when it comes to smoking and they really know how to upset the average yank hick.

The Brits are still a bit sore at our Tutonic neighbours for some reason... Might have something to do with them starting two world wars, but I'm just guessin'...
