I was raised in a very strict and sheltered religious environment. You wouldn't believe how grateful I could be for yt simply because I was able to be exposed to all sorts of different opinions I'd never heard before. I've learned alot, have been able to develop a clearer personal outlook on all sorts of things, and have made wiser decisions because of some of the information. One monumental decision was finally switching to public school, which made a really significant change.

There have also been positive changes to both, though. I think in my case, the two are very closely related.
