Yes, but if they do something TOTALLY stupid, then I can't stand up for an idiot, family or not.

6 yrs ago, 11 mos ago - Monday 5/29/06 - 1:02:57 AM EST (GMT-5)
No, not the arseholes of my family. I defend those who I love. I don't love arseholes. My family is full of arseholes.
6 yrs ago, 11 mos ago - Monday 5/29/06 - 1:05:07 AM EST (GMT-5)
I don't defend them when they're in the wrong and I know it, but in any other situation, probably.
6 yrs ago, 11 mos ago - Monday 5/29/06 - 1:07:28 AM EST (GMT-5)
Publicly, yes I will. Privately may be another matter all together.
6 yrs ago, 11 mos ago - Monday 5/29/06 - 1:08:38 AM EST (GMT-5)
Sort of.

I call my mom a "bitch" and my brother a "low-life" all the time. If anyone ELSE said it, though, I'd be ready to fight them.
I'm the only one who's allowed to insult my family.

6 yrs ago, 11 mos ago - Monday 5/29/06 - 1:34:32 AM EST (GMT-5)
Nope. You can say anything you want about any of my family members. They are fair game, just like anyone else.
6 yrs ago, 11 mos ago - Monday 5/29/06 - 1:35:41 AM EST (GMT-5)
Stand up for somewho who deserves to be stood up for, if they happen to be related fine if not thats alright. I won't stand up for a family member if they don't deserve it.
6 yrs ago, 11 mos ago - Monday 5/29/06 - 1:40:06 AM EST (GMT-5)
Yes.

I can say what I want about my family, but when someone else does I have to defend them.

6 yrs ago, 10 mos ago - Wednesday 7/5/06 - 3:53:01 AM EST (GMT-5)
No.
In fact there's one person in my family I would kill before I would defend..
6 yrs ago, 9 mos ago - Tuesday 8/8/06 - 6:06:44 AM EST (GMT-5)
Yes, I agree with mjsmoose.
6 yrs ago, 4 mos ago - Monday 1/8/07 - 6:41:35 PM EST (GMT-5)
If I don't agree with something they do, I'll let them know.
6 yrs ago, 4 mos ago - Monday 1/8/07 - 9:56:13 PM EST (GMT-5)
Yes, I love them very much. I will stick up for all of them.
6 yrs ago, 2 mos ago - Sunday 3/18/07 - 1:48:57 PM EST (GMT-5)
Everyone except for my cousin and her brother, they are self-centered bastards and they deserve to be insulted.

This is a common sentiment. I agree.
5 yrs ago, 11 mos ago - Thursday 6/14/07 - 12:57:28 AM EST (GMT-5)
There are things that my family could do that I couldn't defend but, yes, they have always been defended and I give them more benefit of the doubt than I do anybody else.

I agree on this. I'm not much of a family person anyway.

5 yrs ago, 11 mos ago - Thursday 6/21/07 - 11:43:09 AM EST (GMT-5)
If my family is right then yes. If they're wrong I will try to work it out.
5 yrs ago, 11 mos ago - Thursday 6/21/07 - 11:50:21 AM EST (GMT-5)
Yes.

Just the other day I was joking around with my friends saying how ditzy my sister can be sometimes. Then a friend started making these comments about her and saying "She's soooo stupid!" and laughed about it. I got quite offended and felt that I should defend her.

I just didn't like the fact that she didn't even know my sister well enough to make those kind of comments.

5 yrs ago, 10 mos ago - Monday 7/9/07 - 6:50:20 AM EST (GMT-5)
Yes and the feeling should come naturally in most people but that doesn't mean we would defend them from punishment of committing a stupid act.
5 yrs ago, 5 mos ago - Saturday 12/22/07 - 11:35:07 AM EST (GMT-5)
Just my close family, as I owe them everything.
5 yrs ago, 5 mos ago - Saturday 12/22/07 - 12:42:21 PM EST (GMT-5)
Defend against some verbal attack? It really depends...
like the time my dad said the *n-word* in a parking garage and a group of people starting calling him names? No, I didn't defend him. He was wrong and I couldn't rightly defend him.
5 yrs ago, 5 mos ago - Saturday 12/22/07 - 1:44:19 PM EST (GMT-5)
Of course, unless it was something totally horrible
5 yrs ago, 5 mos ago - Saturday 12/22/07 - 2:01:40 PM EST (GMT-5)
I would only feel the need to defend those that I think would defend me.
