I'm pretty sure epidemic applies only to diseases and rapid/widespread ideals. So no, another epidemic of concentration and death camps can never occur because there never was an epidemic of them in the first place...

I don't know, the last real concentration camps were in the early 1990's, Balkans. Its inevitable to happen, as there will always be ethnic and religious tension, leading to wars.

Enough with the nit picking! I think we all basically know the question is asking whether the atrocities of death camps and the mania surrounding them could ever occur again. I hope not to the same extent as we've seen in history, but genocide is happening right now as I type this. Unfortunately, humans have killed each other since humans have roamed the earth, and it doesn't look like we have risen above it yet.

I think it would be difficult if not impossible for it to be carried out on the same scale that it was during the Holocaust, due to 24 hour mass media, etc. It couldn't be kept secret for very long, like it was then. (And presumably if it was known that something of that scale was occuring someone would take action...) But on a smaller scale, it definitely could (and does) still happen.

i hope to god no. if it does nothing has been learned from history, and people have allowed themselves to be taken advantage of way too much again.

uhh. i think something like that will definatly happen again eventually. there is no guarentees about how people will behave in the future. I don't believe we will ever get along peacefully as much as we try.
