If they sort out the public transport, and the transformation of the East End doesnt get bogged down like the millenium dome or the new Wembley stadium. Then yes, I think it will do well

Perhaps I'm short-sightedly patriotic, but I certainly think that London and the whole of the UK will pull together to make London 2012 the very best Olympic games of all time.

I think our country needs this, and will try its hardest to make it the best Olympic games yet.

I imagine that they'll be as good as any other country which held the Olympic Games. One host is pretty much the same as another, just a different backdrop.

That's what everyone said here about the Sydney Olympics.

And every Olympic Games the Olympic President declares them the best games ever.

Agreed. I hate the olympics mainly because I hate sports in general - so I could hardly care.

13 yrs ago, 10 mos ago - Saturday 1/14/06 - 1:21:16 PM EST (GMT-5)
It will be hard to beat Sydney's attempt but I think the athletes are more responsible for making it memorable and thus great

13 yrs ago, 10 mos ago - Wednesday 1/18/06 - 6:01:08 PM EST (GMT-5)
Yes. It may well be.
13 yrs ago, 9 mos ago - Tuesday 2/7/06 - 9:41:37 AM EST (GMT-5)
It could have been, had it been in Birmingham. But no.. London had to have it. Even though London can hardly cope. So no, it won't be the best one ever.

(Sorry. I'm still really peeved that London got the site over Bham. Grr.)

I think the games in London will be good, but they'll have to be especially good to be better than the '84 Games in Los Angeles

I live in London and I'm not looking forward to 2012. Hopefully I will have moved out of London by that time. I agree with Taffyamy, London cant deal even deal with 2 inches of snow let alone a national event. I dread what will happen!
13 yrs ago, 9 mos ago - Wednesday 2/22/06 - 2:53:16 AM EST (GMT-5)

No, it'll be boring, like all the other Olympics.
13 yrs ago, 8 mos ago - Tuesday 3/14/06 - 8:33:50 AM EST (GMT-5)
Christ no! It will be a complete sham and the rest of the world can rip the piss out of us even more! I think it's ridiculous that we're hosting it, all it will do is cost the tax payers even more money!
13 yrs ago, 8 mos ago - Friday 3/17/06 - 12:35:07 PM EST (GMT-5)

13 yrs ago, 8 mos ago - Friday 3/17/06 - 12:38:52 PM EST (GMT-5)
