If you do sociology A level you'll learn that most people who are racist would be offended if you accused them of it. This suggests that it is mostly unintentional. But our teacher talks a load of BS most of the time.

Sure, kids may be brought up not knowing any better and continue a cycle. As well kids today who are mostly not racist, too an extent, will not know any better if a improper word is used. Also I believe that peoples perceptions of racism need to change as well. The next generation may not mean anything by a word or a comment but an older generation may take great offense to it. Time will only tell how much change will occur. Besides racism is dwindling.

Yes, I'm sure alot of it is unintentional. Alot of little kids don't know better if they're parents tell them the wrong things. Alot of older people don't know either. Unfortunately, alot of people are just ignorant and don't know any better.

Yes, it is with little children, especially if they've never been exposed to people of a different race than their own.

Sure--I was walking through the Hispanic part of town and the lady selling tamales on the street wouldn't even think about asking if I wanted to buy one even though she asked every Hispanic walking by. I'm sure that she didn't do it because she hates white people or intended to be racist...

my mom often, without realizing it, locks the car door if we're stopped at a light in the bad part of town and a black or hispanic person walks by. I know she doesnt mean to, but I get very annoyed

Yes, people are socialized in a racist environment and absorb those prejudices without thinking critically.
