Too fair, I think that he has a possibility of beating the rap.

I think it will be fair and he'll get the life imprisonment he deserves. This judge seems fair from what I can tell and the world is watching him like a hawk. If anything, I think he'll have to convict Saddam for diplomatic reasons.

But look at that Milosevic guy - 2.5 years of trial and he hasnt even made his opening statement yet.

Aahh but he's a white european christian......

Point well taken
16 yrs ago, 6 mos ago - Tuesday 7/6/04 - 3:55:50 AM EST (GMT-5)
I'm not up to date with Milosevic's trial, but given the enormity of Saddam's trial, they're moving pretty fast.
16 yrs ago, 6 mos ago - Tuesday 7/6/04 - 3:58:12 AM EST (GMT-5)
Initially yes, but all of Saddams lawyers are also making great strides to try and delay the process.
16 yrs ago, 6 mos ago - Tuesday 7/6/04 - 4:12:23 AM EST (GMT-5)
As they would but I really don't think it will hinder the process too much.
16 yrs ago, 6 mos ago - Tuesday 7/6/04 - 12:03:09 PM EST (GMT-5)
As fair of a trial as he deserves... I'm not too concerned about bringing him justice.
16 yrs ago, 6 mos ago - Tuesday 7/6/04 - 2:00:27 PM EST (GMT-5)
I would bet that by the time his trial is over, his supporters will have taken over the Iraqi government and he will be freed.
16 yrs ago, 6 mos ago - Wednesday 7/7/04 - 1:02:44 PM EST (GMT-5)
It's hard to say, but I do know that we shouldn't have gone there to begin with.
16 yrs ago, 6 mos ago - Wednesday 7/7/04 - 1:04:02 PM EST (GMT-5)
Well he did get 100% of the vote.
16 yrs ago, 6 mos ago - Thursday 7/8/04 - 10:33:48 AM EST (GMT-5)
My bet is on one of the following:
Either those who hate Saddam will make sure he wishes he was never born.

or

Some of his extreme loyalists free him before anything ever gets done.

16 yrs ago, 6 mos ago - Thursday 7/8/04 - 12:36:49 PM EST (GMT-5)
I think his chances of getting a fair trial in Iraq are greater than they would be if the trial were here.
16 yrs ago, 6 mos ago - Thursday 7/8/04 - 1:14:44 PM EST (GMT-5)
It depends on how you define a 'fair' trial. Most Iraqi's would say hanging him is fair. Americans may silently agree but support a trial first.....however personally I think he'll get as fair a trial as possible. If not, he'll become a matyr and thats no way to lay the souls of those he killed to rest with justice.
16 yrs ago, 6 mos ago - Thursday 7/8/04 - 1:17:23 PM EST (GMT-5)
yes he'll get a fair trial then be hanged.
16 yrs ago, 6 mos ago - Thursday 7/8/04 - 1:45:34 PM EST (GMT-5)
I'm willing to bet it will be the fairest trial in Iraq in at least the last 25 years.
16 yrs ago, 6 mos ago - Thursday 7/15/04 - 9:29:17 AM EST (GMT-5)
I'm not sure that Amreican justice is any better.
16 yrs ago, 6 mos ago - Thursday 7/15/04 - 9:40:13 AM EST (GMT-5)
Probably not, and I really couldn't care less about how "unfair" it might be
16 yrs ago, 6 mos ago - Thursday 7/15/04 - 9:52:24 AM EST (GMT-5)
Fair trial? Sure.

Fair sentence? Not so sure.

HE DENIED ONE OF HIS RELATIVES HEAT STRESSED BABY A DRINK AT A FAMILY GET TOGETHER ,WHY IS ANYBODY WORRIED IF HE GETS A FAIR TRIAL OR NOT?.

"WHY IS ANYBODY WORRIED IF HE GETS A FAIR TRIAL OR NOT?"

Well..Iraq is a democracy now, isnt it?

16 yrs ago, 5 mos ago - Monday 8/2/04 - 10:09:21 AM EST (GMT-5)
Any trial that results in an execution will be a fair one.
16 yrs ago, 5 mos ago - Saturday 8/7/04 - 7:49:51 PM EST (GMT-5)
im sure no matter where he goes he will not get a fair trial which i think is pretty dumb he should just be set free he only did things when he was in power.. hes not inpower anymore..so theres really nothing he can do to the masses. It shouldnt matter what ppl do they should just all be set free..
16 yrs ago, 5 mos ago - Monday 8/9/04 - 2:10:55 PM EST (GMT-5)
That's an interesting take on it. Ridiculous, but intersting.
