Nope! I don't think you have to be intelligent. It's a talent that people with a certain mind set can succeed at.

I believe so, unless they're trying to deceive a stupid person.

Yes, I would think so. To truly be a convincing liar you have to have half a brain...but in the end it all comes down to who you are deceiving. if they are a dumbass, then it won't be too hard.

Not intelligent, but very quick thinking and you also need a good memory to remember which lies you've told to which people.

intelligence is the key to doing anything, intelligence is an ability in a certain area, so in order to deceive u would need to be good at deceiving, or the driving force behind it which just might be skillful lying. there's no such thing as general intelligence.

Simply being charismatic is enough I suppose. Plus it's just a matter of being very empathic. You know, being able to get into other people's heads and using their emotions to your advantage.

You have to be pretty smart. I used to work for a government agency and as sad as this is... most of the people who got in trouble (fraud, etc.) were lacking in the intelligence area. Even on the news, and things like that the people getting arrested etc are not on top of their game.

no. my brother tells a lie every ten minutes and he gets away with them. he get's c's on his report card. of course, sometimes he does trip up and gets caught, but that's because he needs more practice in keeping them straight.

No, a high IQ isn't required. Witty people can get away with it as well.
