If you worry about calories that much, cook your own food. Restaurants are a luxury not a necessity.

They shouldn't have to provide this info, but I'd love it if they did.
16 yrs ago, 5 mos ago - Friday 1/9/04 - 9:15:45 AM EST (GMT-5)
No. The government already has too many regulations for restaurants to follow. I don't mean health regulations, either, I mean BS paperwork that needs to be farted around with all the time.

It might be nice but I do not think they should HAVE to by any means.

If you're worried about calories, you shouldn't eat out.

Right, I agree when I go out to eat I like to enjoy myself and not stress fat and calories. I wouldn't want to see it personally.

No! Going to a restaurant should be relaxing and enjoyable. Who wants to worry about calories? Ignorance is bliss!

Amen..........Stay home.....Eating out should be fun.
16 yrs ago, 5 mos ago - Wednesday 1/14/04 - 4:33:49 PM EST (GMT-5)
they shouldn't HAVE to, but the information should be available if it is requested. (and i really doubt that most people would request it.)
16 yrs ago, 5 mos ago - Tuesday 1/27/04 - 6:40:00 AM EST (GMT-5)
if you don't want to eat because you are scared of the calories, don't eat, and don't go out

How could a restaurant do it? Most places aren't like a McDonald's where the offerings are always the same. If a place gets a good deal on some fish and want to have a special, they can't wait for the lab analysis to come back so they can post the calorie count of the prepared meal...

no way too much trouble

Upon request, absolutely...

I agree with Ang, I don't want it there infront of me, becuase I'd rather not have it affect my choosing, but if its there it will. But if someone requests it, it'd be nice for them always to beable to get it.

If you that paranoid about calories, kilojules, fat blah blah blah, stay home and eat rice cakes. Pretty soon there's going to be no place of this earth that's safe from obessesive worry warts.

I can't imagine how much money would be wasted by restaurant owners if this were to happen. What about nicer restaurants that changes dishes every day? Give me a break...
16 yrs ago, 2 mos ago - Thursday 4/22/04 - 10:49:56 AM EST (GMT-5)
It would be great if restaurants could provide nutritional information upon request, but I don't think they should be forced to.

16 yrs ago, 1 mos ago - Monday 5/31/04 - 8:02:54 PM EST (GMT-5)
If it is requested by the customer. It would be quite annoying for them to just post them.
16 yrs ago, 1 mos ago - Monday 5/31/04 - 8:17:26 PM EST (GMT-5)
I could see how it would be convenient, but then again, sometimes I just want to eat and not even have a clue as to how many calories i'm ingesting.
16 yrs ago, 1 mos ago - Monday 5/31/04 - 8:24:01 PM EST (GMT-5)
No. What if the customer changed an ingredient or said add something? Would the waiter have to change the calorie count right there?
16 yrs ago, 1 mos ago - Saturday 6/5/04 - 4:08:26 PM EST (GMT-5)
Yes in addition to the total Fat,Trans Fat,Saturated Fat,Sodium,Cholesterol and Fiber. Many people in this country can't afford to eat healthy meals at home,so they spend time at resturants or fast food joints.Research has also shown when you eat out at resturants, you consume more calories, more fat and less fiber/vitamins/minerals.In addition to that, most people are overweight or obese,so they should watch what they eat.
