Do most people tend to settle for the appearance of justice rather than the real thing?

Justice and the legal system seem to be separating more and more. The common sense of yesteryear is being overshadowed by the loopholes and lawyer double talk of today. OJ Simpson is a perfect example.

When did justice and truth become so disconnected. Anytime a celeb is in the courts it seems like a Hollywood show. That is not the impression that the courts should be going for.

most people don't even know wut justice is, but they do want it, or at least the illusion

I don't know about "most," but the appearance of justice is a grave threat to actual justice. If people are consistently fooled into buying (figuratively and, for example, literally) the appearance, it undermines the justice system.

i would assume so since we;ve created laws we KNOW people are going to break and then just harass victims and hurt them more instead of trying to make things actually better

When they do, it sickens me. On the other hand I tend to believe that's the exception rather than the rule.
