17 yrs ago, 4 mos ago - Saturday 11/22/03 - 6:59:41 PM EST (GMT-5)
NO it means they are about you.
17 yrs ago, 4 mos ago - Saturday 11/22/03 - 7:21:03 PM EST (GMT-5)

17 yrs ago, 4 mos ago - Saturday 11/22/03 - 7:32:16 PM EST (GMT-5)
no
17 yrs ago, 4 mos ago - Saturday 11/22/03 - 7:56:55 PM EST (GMT-5)
no, i dont think about it
17 yrs ago, 4 mos ago - Tuesday 11/25/03 - 10:48:57 AM EST (GMT-5)
I don't think anything of it. Prayer seems tedious to me as a Satanist
17 yrs ago, 4 mos ago - Tuesday 11/25/03 - 10:49:42 AM EST (GMT-5)
It depends on what my situation is.
17 yrs ago, 4 mos ago - Tuesday 11/25/03 - 10:57:35 AM EST (GMT-5)
Hah, nah. But usually when someone says that, I'll tell them no thank you.
17 yrs ago, 4 mos ago - Tuesday 11/25/03 - 10:58:20 AM EST (GMT-5)
Probably not, but it would depend on the context. If I were going through a hard time and someone said that, I'd look upon it as their way of being supportive and offering best wishes. I'm sure there are ways it could be used in a condescending fashion, though.
17 yrs ago, 4 mos ago - Tuesday 11/25/03 - 10:59:05 AM EST (GMT-5)
sometimes, if you don't think what is happening to you a big deal then I would.
17 yrs ago, 4 mos ago - Tuesday 11/25/03 - 10:59:54 AM EST (GMT-5)
Sometimes I need all the prayers I can get.
17 yrs ago, 4 mos ago - Tuesday 11/25/03 - 11:00:27 AM EST (GMT-5)
if they're saying it because i'm sick or broke or otherwise having a rough time in life, i would not consider it an insult. but if they are saying it because i disagree in some way with their religious beliefs, then that would pose a problem for me.
17 yrs ago, 4 mos ago - Tuesday 11/25/03 - 11:57:23 AM EST (GMT-5)
I'd only take it as an insult if they said it sarcastically or didn't mean it
17 yrs ago, 4 mos ago - Saturday 11/29/03 - 9:53:32 PM EST (GMT-5)
Flippy I got this question out the Satanic Bible you poser.
17 yrs ago, 4 mos ago - Saturday 11/29/03 - 10:20:05 PM EST (GMT-5)
I agree with uglyweirdguy.
17 yrs ago, 4 mos ago - Saturday 11/29/03 - 10:22:28 PM EST (GMT-5)
Mmm, no. If the person is being sincere, I consider it very kind & caring on their part.
17 yrs ago, 4 mos ago - Saturday 11/29/03 - 11:57:20 PM EST (GMT-5)
Uglyweirdguy said it.
17 yrs ago, 4 mos ago - Saturday 11/29/03 - 11:58:05 PM EST (GMT-5)
why on earth would it be an insult?
17 yrs ago, 4 mos ago - Sunday 11/30/03 - 11:16:34 AM EST (GMT-5)
It would be an insult if you and they had been talking about religion, had disagreed with one another, and they said they would pray for your soul.

The implecation that your beliefs are wrong, that they had the influence with God to save you, and that you should change whether you desired to do so or not is definatly an insult.

everything that wanderer said is the ONLY times i have ever had someone say that to me. I say i only believe in a higher power and let the rest work itself out, and i am constantly being told that i will be going to hell and there's no one to save me... I don't know how i keep ending up talking to these people.
17 yrs ago, 4 mos ago - Thursday 12/4/03 - 2:47:25 AM EST (GMT-5)
Depends on the conversation I gather.

17 yrs ago, 4 mos ago - Thursday 12/4/03 - 3:03:55 AM EST (GMT-5)
Usually the person means well, so I try not to take offense, but in many ways it *is* offensive to me because it implies that my belief system isn't valid or isn't "good enough" and that I need their help because *their* beliefs are more valid and thus are more "effectual." I *am* offended, regardless, when someone says they'll pray for me specifically with regard to my religion--like saying, "I know you don't see that you're wrong yet, but I'll pray for you that God might open your eyes...." That's definitely an insult, and is rather arrogant and presumptuous to boot.
17 yrs ago, 4 mos ago - Thursday 12/4/03 - 3:07:54 AM EST (GMT-5)
I would wonder why
17 yrs ago, 3 mos ago - Friday 1/2/04 - 2:06:45 AM EST (GMT-5)
i would take it as an insult from people who know that i dont believe, but not from people who dont
