Having a spouse that cheated on me, part of me says 'hell yeah'. But the more I think about it, I would say 'no'. The govt getting involved in something like that is just not right. If the other person is not married then its not a legal issue, its a moral issues. And many moral issues the Govt should just not get involved in.

NO I don't think this should happen at all. cheating is embarrasing, being cheated on is embarrasing....

no, i think two people should deal with it together, not involving anyone else

I think it's a great idea, like that 'John TV' that shows all the people arrested for visiting prostitutes. Maybe it would make people think twice before breaking the law and their wedding vows just for a cheap thrill :P

Oh but yes UptownGuy it is a legal issue. As far as I am aware, adultery is illegal in the US - in divorce proceedings if you are found guilty of adultery, you have no rights to children, property, etc.

It's really nobody's business. However, that's pretty funny.

It wouldn't work in America.

i'd prefer my spouse to not cheat on me because he loved me, and not because he was afraid to get caught on tv!

If potentially breaking the heart of the person you love most isn't enough to stop you, why would the fear of public embarassment be?

Marriage isn't just a moral issue, but a legal issue, while it's a failed institution to begin with, as humans seem to naturally question their status in comparison to other possibilities and often desire to experiment to be sure. However, if a legal institution is going to support marriage, they should investigate potential leads for legal violations, regardless of moral or ethical implications. As long as adultery is illegal, the government should be allowed and encouraged to expose all crimes, not only when it's convenient. However, the question is whether or not adultery should be illegal I think, and from a personal standpoint I'd say no, but I suppose that doesn't really matter.

No, that is definitely taking it to far. I think the way we handle it in the states is ok. It affects the divorce proceedings as it is a violation of the law, but it is not the state’s or government’s place to regulate morality they are only here to keep the peace.

People cheat, deal with it and get over it. Don't publicize it.

No that is just stupid. If someone cheats on you dump them or get over it, but don't be bitter and bitch about it..

So I guess the right of basic human dignity only applies to the righteous majority, who are obviously perfect.

While I think I would have loved to have my ex husband exposed on TV to all our friends, family, co-workers and the like for his infidelity, I have to say no. It's too much of a personal subject to be put on National TV. Unless your a Jerry Springer fan.
