Unfortunately. I've been playing on computers for awhile, as my dad has always been into them, but MY first computer was a 200 MHZ, 48 MB ram, 6 gig HD, crappy video card, 13" monitor. BLEH. I'm sure some of you have had commarodors (however the hell you spell that) and such, but I just got rid of that crap a year ago, so it was wayyy obsolete when I had it.

Actually, now that I think about it, I did have a different computer. I had an old old old toshiba laptop. I don't know what the specs were ,but the biggest demanding thing I could do on there was play wolfenstein.

I got a hand-me-down Commodore 64 when I was 13. I didnt know anything about the specs of it, except it didnt have Windows, and yes, beaker, it had an external tape drive that used cassette tapes. It also had a cartridge port in the back to play Atari type games on. It had a phone, I think that might have been the modem. I wish I knew what speed it was, but Im guessing it was less than 1Kb/sec. I never got to use it though. That would have taken money that my 13-year old pockets couldnt support.

The first one I bought for myself though was a Pentium II 400MHz with 32MB of RAM and a 20GB HD.

Download Weird Al's song "Pentiums". It's great Even if you're on dial-up, it's worth the 10-15 minutes.

The first computer that was really mine was a 386 DX33. It had 1 meg of memory (Wow!!!) and a 240 meg hard drive. It had a double speed CD ROM, and a soundcard. The first computer in our family with that advanced hardware. It also had SVGA graphics. I was running MS-DOS 6.1 and Windows 3.1. I could make that machine sing.

Over the years I made many upgrades. Upped the memory, replaced the CD, soundcard, and video card, upped the processer to a 486 DX100, and the last upgrades before I junked it was a replacement motherboard (Pentium MMX and Windows 95).

My current machine is cobbled together from a host of parts that were lying arround. It's not a bad machine, but very underpowered. It's using Windows 98, because all later versions of windows require more processing power than it's got.

I might start from scratch soon. It's depressing when the bargin bin at the software store is full of old stuff that won't work because my machine is not powerful enough...

I have no idea what specs are, so no. I used to have a cool Spectrum that used tapes and took about an hour to load space invaders!

I know it was windows 3.1 and that is all I know. That computer is still in my room because I have a couple games on it that the graphics are so bad they are classic and won't let my mom throw the computer away.

Ah -- *my* first computer was a Pentium II, about 533 MHz, 20 GB hard drive and something like 128 MB RAM. The OS was Win 98. It was bought only about four years ago.

My *family's* first computer was a Russian 1991 thing called "Partner 0101" or something like that. It had nothing but Basic. You could type in a program and run it, and hence play a basic game. But there was no storage devices whatsoever, so if you wanted to play a game again, you'd have to type it again. But it was very exciting, as I recall, because I've never seen a computer before that.

486SX-33Mhz 256K Cache, 4MB RAM, 212MB Hard Drive running on Windows 3.1 and DOS 6.0.

It was later upgraded to 16MB RAM and we added a Reveal sound card with (ooooh, ahhh back then) wavetable synthesis, and Windows 95.
