the excorcist. everything else sucks. "The Others" was a bit scary until you get to the end and then it's just interesting instead of scary, so that one is DQ'ed. silence of the lambs wasn't scary, just a cool movie. i hear the pokemon movie was pretty scary but i'm too afraid to watch...

Scary movies I usually find funny - it's the ones that could happen in real life that scare me. 'Sleeping with the Enemy' was scary, and before I knew it was fake, 'Blair Witch Project' scared the crap out of me. :P

The #1 scariest movie: "The Exorcist"..way too scary for me, I haven't seen it but I've seen parts and refuse to watch the whole thing. "The Shining" is #2

I haven't seen many movies that actually made me think about the possibilities of it being real AFTER it was over.

I've never seen a movie that really scared me, but I get the creeps every time I hear Hannibal Lecter say 'Hello Clarice' in that creepy voice of his.

When I was a kid, the "Slasher" movies like the Friday the 13th films, The Fog, Halloween, etc. scared the S#!^ out of me. Im a big boy now, I realise "it's just a movie" ;)

Silence of the Lambs is scary while you're watching it. these are the scary movies I want to see:
Scream 1,2,3
I know what you did last summer
I still know what you did last summer
the exorcist.

Personally, I think The Ring was scary because when I think about it at night, I get real freaked out. And sometimes, when I think about it, something that didnt make sence while I was watching it would start making sence. And no matter how much you think about it, there are still some things that will never make sence in that movie. That is kinda freaky.

I would definitely have to say The Exorcist. Some movies are slightly scary, but that movie is just evil. When she comes down the stairs crab style.....

I liked "The Ring"
The Exorcist wasn't scary, but the last edited version was freaky because of all the image flashes they add.

28 days left was fantastic- It's been a long time since a movie made me jump- loved it!!!! when I was a kid one of the short stories from cats eye- the one where the troll comes out of the wall scared the s*&# out of me- that was great when I was a kid

An interesting book about horror movies and books is Stephen King's "Danse Macabre". I saw several movies because of it. Copy right 1981, so it doesn't have the newer stuff in it - unless he's put out "Danse Macabre 2", which I doubt.

The only films that have ever scared me were The Ring....there's something sinister about long haired girls who crawl out of TVs, and The Shining the first time I watched it, but I think that had more to do with the sound.

For some reason the only movie that has ever scared me was The Mothman Prophecies. Perhaps because weird things always seem to happen after I watch that movie...

The Ring, it's the only movie that I've ever truly been freaked out by.

And that Barney movie I had to see with my sister. I don't even want to know what he does with the children behind the scenes.

A Russian movie called "Come and See" about the Nazi invasion and their hunting down of Belarussian villagers was incredibly scary and the most disturbing three and a half hours I have ever seen.

Rosemary's Baby terrified me more than anything else. I was crying becuase I couldn't take it anymore. You have to watch it with the lights out and pay close attention to get really into it, I suppose you always have to get really invested in a movie to be terrified by it. The Shining is my second place. Those are the top two. For some reason I wasn't scared by The Exorcist.
