Good question. I guess find a way to rebuild Iraq without hurting the US economy? And, I guess Afganistan is SOL with any rebuild for now.

I've always thought it a bit misleading to say a president can do a great deal about the economy. It's capitalism -- remember Adam Smith's "invisible hand"? It's cyclical. I think an administration can do some things to promote (or conversely, stifle) the economy but I think mostly its a cyclical thing. The 90s were marked by an bubble founded on unrealistic beliefs about the Web and its effects on business. That burst and now here we are.

The American economy isn't really HIS priority, not like he really has much control over it, it should be rebuilding Iraq, that little thing that his whole presidentcy is based on.

Bush is the one who sent US troops to attack Iraq. Now, he has to finish what he started. It was easy to destroy a country weakened by a decade of sanctions. Countries who opposed the attack should not shoulder the burden of reconstructing what the current US Administration destroyed in its "Shock and Awe" bombing frenzy. However, neither should the average American people. So then, to finance reconstruction in Iraq, I sugget that Bush cancel the tax cut he promised all the rich folks. That should do the trick.

As long as he can blame Clinton for the economy, he's better off pursuing a war on terror, which he can also blame on Clinton.
