Is it possible to think that nobody knows the truth, and yet believe with all one`s heart that something/someone is the truth?
Take religion for example. Isn`t it a major contradiction if you say that nobody knows the truth, and yet you think God exists because you have faith? Isn`t it a sign of lack of faith or half-heartedness? Its eiother you believe it, or you don`t, or else you`d be a non-religious outsider sitting on the fence.
I beilive that God not only knows the truth, but IS the truth. Though NO human knows the truth, they can have faith, that God is and knows, the truth. I don't believe that is a contradiction. Though, I maybe just don't understand the question.
It makes sense to me. Although I would add that humans can know PARTS of the truth, though obviously not all, as that would be to contemplate infinity.
It is possible to know with all one's heart that you know, or at least know there is a God, when God has given certain experiences to that heart. Others may not believe, but to that person it's more real than anything.
logically and factually, there has to be...or should i say...there IS one ultimate TRUTH that supercedes all BELEIFS.
so yes, no matter what you believe in, the truth is still the truth. if you happen to believe the real truth, then you're lucky. if not, well then, you're beleifs all amount to nothing...unless that one Ultimate Truth is actually that "belief defines truth for the individual", which is possible, i suppose...but i believe it's unlikely.
