Got to consider all the factors.

australia. it's so cut off from the rest of the world that it doesn't have to worry about terrorists and stuff. however, there are a lot of dangerous animals and sh.it there. i still think it's safer though.

I have no idea, I personally wouldnt want to live either place

Canada. because you can allways run over the border to the usa.

People amaze me, you guys probably think that we have kangaroos wandering down the main street of Melbourne and Sydney too. I've lived here my entire life and the only snakes I've seen have been in the bush, I've never seen a shark "in the wild", dangerous spiders are not really anymore common than in the US, and crocodiles/box jellyfish/blue ringed octopuses etc are rare except in certain areas at certain times - and those areas are well signed. It is an also commonly agreed that in the event of nuclear warfare we would be the safest place in the world for fallout. Other than that little mishap at Port Arthur 5 years ago, we have a relatively minute homicide/mass-shooting rate, and have never had a terrorist attack. Granted I'm somewhat patriotic, but give me Austaralia anyday.

I watched a documentary about spiders in Australia, that they get into your house and hide in places you can't see...tons of poisonous snakes too... I guess they got me thinking wrong. Anyway I can't say Australia or Canada because I haven't been to Australia and don't know much about it so I can't compare.

Nice one, Alastair. I have to go now though.. My pet emu is hiding under my bed again.

and while you're doing that, I'll go check on my pet polar bear. *calls* Oh Pookie! C'mere!
12 yrs ago, 5 mos ago - Wednesday 7/3/02 - 5:54:31 PM EST (GMT-5)
Not 20 mins ago, I think you were complaining about it being around 34 C where you are. Explain the polar bear. . . .

have you heard about Bin Laden’s plan to sabotage a nuclear power plant in the US? that radiation could affect Canada as well…. So I’ll go with Australia…
12 yrs ago, 5 mos ago - Wednesday 7/3/02 - 5:57:52 PM EST (GMT-5)
this polar bear is Canadian. Don't you know about Canadian Polar Bears? They possess the power to with stand heat.

Hey Pinki, how do you keep Pookie from harassing your pet penguins, or do they have a secure igloo to themselves ? lol
12 yrs ago, 5 mos ago - Wednesday 7/3/02 - 6:01:37 PM EST (GMT-5)
Nice comments, Alistair. However I'd have to go with New Zealand being the safest place on the planet (fallout or not) - but hey, that's patriotism as well.
12 yrs ago, 5 mos ago - Wednesday 7/3/02 - 6:01:55 PM EST (GMT-5)
No no, we don't have igloos. Jean Chretien just got a brilliant idea - Wig Wams! But as for the penguins, we've built a giant community warehouse for them. It's amazingly cold for them.
12 yrs ago, 5 mos ago - Wednesday 7/3/02 - 6:05:25 PM EST (GMT-5)
you forget these are Canadian penguins, eh?
12 yrs ago, 5 mos ago - Wednesday 7/3/02 - 6:07:45 PM EST (GMT-5)
Yeah, but ours are "fairy" penguins. They wouldn't be able to handle the lack of creature comforts of community living in a warehouse. Damn - there goes the story about big ,strong, bronzed Aussies.

There's another pro for Australia. We've gold lying around everywhere.
12 yrs ago, 5 mos ago - Wednesday 7/3/02 - 6:12:34 PM EST (GMT-5)
Ohh - he's cute. Palaguin, you're a gem.
12 yrs ago, 5 mos ago - Wednesday 7/3/02 - 6:13:57 PM EST (GMT-5)
palaguin, you've got to delete that! No one must know of our painting penguins to suit or count - er, I mean... Oh Canada, Our Home and Native Land... something something, weezer is my fav. band with glowing sharks we see them rise...
12 yrs ago, 5 mos ago - Wednesday 7/3/02 - 6:17:48 PM EST (GMT-5)
Well, Australia is close enough to New Zealand, so I'll got with Aussie.
12 yrs ago, 5 mos ago - Wednesday 7/3/02 - 6:18:41 PM EST (GMT-5)
