We have our own version of Robin Hood in Australia called Ned Kelly (though Ned is fact - not fiction). They are both folk heroes, but when you cut through all the crap and/or good intentions, they're just criminals. |

plus...on a sidenote...sherwood forest is about 4 miles from where I used to live, he brings in much moolah to the small town the forest is located by! |

Alastair, Robin Hood was also a real historical figure. Wether or not he was as noble as the stories make him out to be is something we'll never know.
Stealing does not become something that's right if you only steal from the rich (a course of action that for a thief makes sense anyway). Even if you share the spoils with other poor people. |

if you actually read into the myth of robin hood, like most local legends, he is the amalgamation of several well known thieves covering an area now known as Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire & Yorkshire.
he was far from a hero, he did not actually share his booty...he was a viscious trouble causer, who likes nothing more than pillaging and murder...
...so to answer my own question, he's a hero, haha! |
