Joke of the Week

Luis Figo, Ronaldo and David Beckham

Figo, Ronaldo and Beckham died and went up to heaven.

Ronaldo was first in the line and met the angel who said 'Ronaldo, why do YOU want to go to heaven?' Ronaldo responded 'I have played football up to the highest level and scored the goals i can' The angel agreed and let Ronaldo pass.

Figo was next. 'Why should YOU go to heaven?' the angel asked. 'Well...' said Figo 'I have done everything I could for my country , making my nation a proud one and lifting Portugal's flag up high.' 'Very well' the angel was admired. She let Figo pass.

She then turned to Beckham - 'I suppose you just want your ball back?'

Sofey's Member Interview

This week's inteview features CowDung.

Tell Sofey: I've seen some really cute pictures in your profile. Who is the great photographer?

CowDung: Most were taken by my wife. It's pretty easy when one has a naturally photogenic kid. It also doesn't hurt that she's a graphic artist and can retouch the digital photos when required.

TS: How old is your son, and what is he currently in to?

CD: He turned two last weekend and he's currently into trouble (no more than any other two year old, I suppose). He's a great little guy who is pretty much into anything that mom or dad is currently doing. He loves using tools, helping us cook, helping us change the baby, etc. with varying degrees of success. My other son is 6 months old--I am rather ashamed to say that we don't seem to have as many pics of him available for posting. I keep telling myself to grab a few off the home PC, but it never seems to happen...

TS: Two sons, sounds like you have the perfect Leave It To Beaver family! Are you an accountant like Ward was?

CD: God NO!!! I don't mean any offense to accountants, mind you...

TS: What do you do for a living?

CD: I'm an engineer. I program automated control systems for the food and beverage (and sometimes pharmaceutical) industries.

TS: Does your wife work outside the home?

CD: She has her own business doing graphic design. We used to work together, but after our first son was born she went 'full time' on her own. She still works at home though--her office is also a playroom.

TS: Sounds nice. Where did you grow up, and what was your life like back then?

CD: I grew up in Southwestern Pennsylvania in a rather rural area. We had 2 horses, a pony and lots of outdoor cats. My life in PA was pretty nice. I worked on a neighbor's farm--it was hard work, but it sure beat flipping burgers. I still think of it as the best job I ever had. (although most of my jobs were pretty good)

TS: When did you graduate from high school and where did you go to college?

CD: I graduated high school in 1986. I went to Milwaukee to attend Marquette University where I graduated in 1991 with a BS in Engineering and a minor in Biology. I lived and worked in Milwaukee 5 years before I got an offer to teach English as a second language in Japan as part of a Catholic Mission. I lived in Kyoto Japan for a little over a year teaching a variety of students. In the schools, I taught the K4, K5, Jr. High and High School levels. At the Mission I taught a variety of students. After a year of service, I returned to Milwaukee to the job I currently have.

TS: Where did you meet your wife?

CD: We met at work. She was a former coworker of a friend of mine who got 'downsized' at her company. Around the same time, my company decided they needed to hire a graphic artist so my friend gave me her name and number. I talked to her on the phone about the job, company and such and liked what I heard. Shortly after she started work here, we got together and eventually married.

TS: What kinds of activities do you do as a family? And what are your personal hobbies?

CD: I am a licensed private pilot, but rarely get the chance to fly anymore--ever since our sons have been born, they have been our main source of recreation. My wife and I have spent the last few years remodeling our house--new kitchen, half bath, floors, etc. We both enjoy working on home improvement projects. Our 2 year old loves to help out as well--particularly if there are tools involved. Family activities tend to revolve around playgroups, trips to zoos and museums. As the weather warms up, we'll head out to the airport for some plane watching.

TS: When and why did you decide to become a licensed private pilot?

CD: I earned my certificate in August 1999. My dad got me hooked on aviation as a kid. We would spend lots of time building and flying gumband powered airplanes and visiting airports. After a road trip to Oshkosh for the EAA (Experimental Aircraft Association) fly in I decided that I wanted to fly. It took me 15 years to find the time and money, but eventually started my flight training in 1997.

TS: How did you find YT and how did you come up with the name CowDung?

CD: I think it was from spending time on Triviamachine/triviaspot.com. I think I got an e-mail (thinking back, it was probably from Buddy) asking me to check out this new site called YouThink.com. I checked it out and soon was addicted. I came up with CowDung shortly after I joined YT (as BilK). I wanted something a little less like my actual name and more fitting for the nature of what I like to do on YT. I figured that 'CowDung' was a proper PG-13 version of 'bullsh*t' and suited me rather well.

TS: What is going on in that (above) picture with the camel?

CD: One one of our trips to the zoo, my son tired of the typical 'petting area' monotany and decided that Camels were more interesting. Of course, the only thing better than looking at a camel is riding on one. Although the ride isn't as smooth as it is on a horse or pony, he seemed to thoroughly enjoy it. My wife stayed back to snap the picture. This year, I will probably have to continue the tradition by riding with both boys.

TS: Your zoo allows you to ride their pets?

CD: Our zoo offers camel and pony rides. I think they also have elephants for riding as well, but I'm not positive.

TS: I think we have what we need for a nice interview. Thank you very much for your time.

CD: That seemed painless enough--I hope I was interesting enough for your readers...
