Funniest Comments of the Week
Random thread:
Blupineridge: Was that you I dreamt about last night? Were you wearing red tennis shoes lately?
Noldor: White Reeboks.
Blupineridge: Guess that wasn't you the man had a red vest on too.
Noldor: Maybe it was the devil.
Cowdung: Doesn't the Devil usually wear a blue dress?
Noldor: No, the devil wears Prada from what I hear.
From the "Let me make you a Mii" thread:
skyfish: Can you do the girl in my avy?
Isthiezak: I sure as hell could!
skyfish: dude, she's 14
Isthiezak: In that case, I sure as hell couldn't!
skyfish: Nah, I'm just screwing with you, I have no idea how old she is.
Isthiezak: In that case, I sure as hell could possibly.
In a thread about 'Smittens' a product where mittens are shared between a couple:
Cindy_: What about a smat and a smarf and a smacket? Or smants? There are endless possibilities with this one.
In a thread about baking:
StiflersMom: And on a sidenote, if you are in the middle of cooking and find your are out of eggs, a tablespoon of mayo will work as replacement for one egg.
CowDung: That idea didn't work so well when I served my kids scrambled mayonnaise for breakfast this morning...
Q: Do you want to be a moderator on YouThink?:
le_burger: The dark side of the moon is much more interesting than the wall of shame. If I was a mod, the animals would run amock and there wouldn't be a single momentary lapse of reason. I'm not one to meddle with petty warnings and such, I'd rather fearlessly face the crowd and hear the echoes from down here instead of up there, setting up the controls for the heart of the sun is none of my business. Anyhow, even if I wanted to, I don't think I'd make the final cut.
Joke of the Week
Similarities - You have an egg, a rug, a drum and chocolate. Which one of these is different from the others?
Well, you can beat an egg, you can beat a rug, and you can beat a drum, but you just can't beat chocolate.

JoeInterview's Member Feature
This week's interview features timmy3113. This interview was conducted by travbowman.
JoeInterview: First off, how did you find YT?
timmy3113: As almost every other person, I found it through IAB. I always answered the questions in the sidebar, and eventually I decided to create an account.
JI: What would you say is the biggest reason you keep coming back for more?
T3113: At first it was only for the questions, until I discovered the forums. Now, though, it's definitely for the people I talk to on here. I also read the news quite a bit, just to stay up to date on current events.
JI: You recently turned 18. Does life feel any different now that you're an adult?
T3113: It doesn't feel different at all, to be honest. I didn't have a lot of rules at home and I was treated like an adult since I was 16, so turning 18 didn't change anything. Oh, but I can vote now, the only downside is all the elections happened (shortly) before I was 18.
JI: Did you keep up with the election stuff anyway, getting a feel for how you would have voted?
T3113: I didn't pay much attention to the federal elections that went on. Our municipal elections I did pay attention to and was happy the candidate I would have voted for, given the chance, won.
JI: Where do you see yourself in ten years?
T3113: In 10 years, hopefully, I'll have a degree, and be teaching ESL either in Canada or abroad. Maybe settling down and raising a family, who knows.
Honestly though, I haven't thought about it much. It's a long ways away and much can happen between now and then.
JI: What's the best thing about living in BC?
T3113: Probably the nature. One of my favorite things to do is go hiking, and there are a million trails just where I live. Pretty much anywhere you go, you'll be surrounded by natural beauty.
JI: What's the biggest disadvantage to living there?
T3113: If you're not living in a big city, things are far away and the public transport is annoying. Other than that, there's no real disadvantage. I love it here, and will probably remain in the province for most of my life.
JI: What's the best way to spend a weekend?
T3113: What's a weekend? On the off chance that I'm not working, the best way for me to spend it would be hanging out with my best friend Britanny. Usually we just chill at the apartment with the girls (her roommates) watching TV or just laying on her bed chatting and listening to music. Chances are we'll head down to Starbucks and meet up with some friends and have a coffee and just hang out there. Oh god, we sound like a couple.
Or, I can spend any weekend reading a good book, or few good books. You know, just relaxing doing your own thing for those 2 days.
JI: What is your job that keeps you so busy on weekends?
T3113: I am a photolab technician, officially. So basically I print and develop film, do maintenance on the machines. That sort of crap. Since we're not a big box store we don't have enough traffic to keep me busy for an entire shift, so a lot of the time I am on the floor as a merchandiser, basically a stock-boy.
JI: What's the worst thing about your job?
T3113: Probably when our negative processing machine breaks down and customers are snippy about it. Depending on my mood, I other politely tell them to come back tomorrow, or I just get snippy right back and tell them to go to Walmart up the road. I'll tell them we'd rather lose a customer than have you incredibly pissed off if your film is ruined. Sometimes I'm a terrible employee.
JI: What sort of music has been getting the most spin from you lately?
T3113: You guys are going to hate me for my music, but recently I've been listening to Britney Spears' new album. I also recently heard the song 'I Hate This Part' by the Pussycat Dolls, I absolutely love it, to be honest. Also, some not so poppy music would be A Day To Remember, Escape The Fate, and Spill Canvas have been on "heavy rotation."
Flobots is another band that I just discovered the other day, most of the CD is pretty amazing, even though it is rap. I don't normally judge music by the artist, it is a matter of whether I like it or not.
JI: What's the most embarrassing CD in your collection?
T3113: There are a few, I've got the entire Spice Girls' discography, more soundtracks than you can shake a fist at, Sweeney Todd, Mamma Mia, Rent, Titanic, and dare I say it, HSM. I'm going to go with HSM as the ultimate embarrassment though. Don't judge me!
JI: Have you seen all three movies?
T3113: Actually no, I've yet to see the third. I was going to go with a group of friends but I ended up working. It was sort of lame.
JI: What was the last good movie you've seen?
T3113: Wall-E. That's actually been the last movie I've seen in a while. I thought it was really well done, and totally cute. I really don't watch a lot of movies anymore. It's quite unfortunate, truth be told.
JI: What are you most looking forward to in 09?
T3113: Going to school. I just received my acceptance letter to Capilano University yesterday. What this means, is I'll be moving to the big city (Vancouver) all on my on come September. So, it'll be the first time I'm completely independent and making my own way as my parents can't afford to help me.
It's also slightly nerve-wracking. Although the excitement is in the way of my nerves getting to me.
JI: What do you plan on studying?
T3113: Linguistics is what I'll be study although on the website it declares my program 'Arts & Sciences - General Studies' Simply put, it's Liberal Arts.
JI: Historically, what's your worst subject in school?
T3113: I've never been good at math. My brain just does not understand it, or so it seems. Actually, when I was in maths I did a lot better in the units that had an application in the real world. I didn't have many problems with any other courses/subjects I took.
JI: What's a hidden talent of yours that very few on YT know about?
T3113: That's a really tough question for someone who doesn't have many, or any talents. I don't draw or paint, or play instruments, or anything really. When I'm bored I stack random items on my desk. I guess that could be my hidden talent. I've gotten pretty good at it, if I say so myself.
JI: If you could meet any three YTers anywhere you wanted, where would you go and who would be there?
T3113:We'd go anywhere but here. But I really want to go to Disney again, so I'm saying we'll go to Disney. The 3 people would be Duffbeer4moe, Kraken and Die_Numb. Mainly because those are the 3 people I talk to most on here.
JI: What's your favourite memory of going to DisneyLand?
T3113: Well, I went to Euro-Disney, which is the cheap French version. My favourite memory was probably going on all the rides, and getting my Oma, who was 64 at the time, on 'thrill-ride'. It wasn't a roller coaster, but this Pirates of the Caribbean ride, kind of like a log flume.
JI: What does family mean to you?
T3113: Family, huh? We're not really that close, haven't ever been. I'm probably closest with my mom, but that's not saying a lot. We all get along fairly well, and they're always there if I need someone to confide in. All in all, I wouldn't trade them for the world.
JI: What's your forte in the kitchen?
T3113: The best dish, well dessert in this case, are Toffee Blond Brownies. They're like brownies without the chocolate, and are super amazingly yummy. As for a real full meal, I'd say my hungover/drunk breakfasts. Usually French toast, hash browns and bacon/sausages. Nice greasy food, and cooking is way more fun when drunk.
We either cook it before we sleep or we cook it as soon as we wake up.
JI: When out drinking, what's your drink of choice?
T3113: Cola Bacardi, most definitely. If I'm drinking 9 out of 10 times I'll be drinking that. The other time I'll probably be drinking vodka and OJ. I prefer to keep it simple.
JI: What's the craziest thing you've ever done while drunk?
T3113: Not exactly a crazy thing I did while drunk, but it should count. A group of us were at a local show, it ended up being completely lame. So we were like, let's go get drunk.
We ended up just sitting behind an elementary school. 2 of the people we were with had to have a 'serious' talk. When they got back they told us some crazy man told them he'd called the cops and we better leave. We're in the middle of packing up our stuff, and the crazy man comes driving into the field of the school screaming at us.
We ended up just leaving everything and bolting out of the field like no other. That's about the craziest thing that's happened to me while drunk.
JI: Any words of wisdom to share with your fellow YTers?
T3113: No words of wisdom. I'm definitely not wise enough.

Oscar race Predictions
Excerpt: Before kids, I would see an average of 40-50 movies each year, and I'd make an effort to watch a majority of the Oscar-nominated fare each Jan/Feb. Now that priorities in life have changed for me, I got to see five movies which came out in 2008.
