Funniest Comments of the Week

In a random thread:
secretagent: To bring WWII in to this I'll quote a guy I work with. "Hitler had the right idea, he just went after the wrong people. If he'd of gone after the Muslims the world would be a better place right now."
JSchlaudraff: Christ, what a moron that guy is. Everyone knows it should be "if he'd HAVE".

Random thread in which Brunnen_g wrote a poem for a girl:
chips2001: And also: big, swoony sighs @ a guy writing poetry for a chick. Fellas, I hope you're taking notes. I'll bet brunnen gets a few hundred brownie points from this.
amyla516: I totally agree... it's a very sweet things to do. Just have to be careful it doesn't turn out all... gay
Brunnen_G: It's a tightrope I tell you, a tightrope.
amyla516: You passed, sir.
Brunnen_G: So I can put the pink ruffled shirt away? Phew.
Lou Two: Back in the closet, you mean?

In a thread about how a guy can tell a female friend that she could stand to lose a few pounds:
Jesse: Tell her to get rid of the yeast infection. When she freaks, tell her "just kidding, but you could lose a little weight." She'll be so relieved that you were only joking about the yeast that she'll drop 15 pounds that week.

In a thread about small time evangelist Anthony Hopkins' wife found in his freezer:
Putterer: Maybe he was going to eat her liver with some fava beans and a nice chianti.

In a thread titled "Weird talents of YT":
Courtbebe: I can tie a cherry stem with my tongue. This isn’t really a talent, but my jaw unhinges. Like a snake. I can put my fist in my mouth up to the knuckles on my thumb. It’s really gross. I can do side splits, and I think I can still do front splits.
Rik_Khaos: I love your movies.

Joke of the Week

Gotta love the Irish!

John O'Reilly hoisted his beer and said, 'Here's to spending the rest of me life between the legs of me wife!'

That won him the top prize at the pub for the best toast of the night.

He went home and told his wife, Mary, 'I won the prize for the Best toast of the night' She said, 'Aye, did ye now. And what was your toast?' John said, 'Here's to spending the rest of me life, sitting in church beside me wife.'

'Oh, that is very nice indeed, John!' Mary said.

The next day, Mary ran into one of John's drinking buddies on the street corner. The man chuckled leeringly and said, 'John won the prize the other night at the pub with a toast about you, Mary.'

She said, 'Aye, he told me, and I was a bit surprised myself. You know, he's only been there twice in the last four years. Once he fell asleep, and the other time I had to pull him by the ears to make him come.'

JoeInterview's Member Feature

This week's interview features Jagger_Boaz. This interview was conducted by travbowman.

JoeInterview: First off, how did you find YT?

Jagger_Boaz: I found a link here from a profile in the game Warcraft 3, just searching through random profiles. Looked interesting so I decided to try it out.

JI: What would you say is the biggest reason you keep coming back for more?

J_B: I have no idea, there must be some kind of addictive substance in the threads around here, I guess it would be a combination of the people, and the journals, simply because they make me laugh.

JI: Describe Warcraft 3 to the uninitiated.

J_B: It's a real-time strategy game, meaning that the players build the base, and the army, and try to destroy the other player's base. The storyline, the prequel to World of Warcraft, is basically the orcs, humans and elves stop fighting each other to defeat the undead, who are trying to conquer the planet.

JI: What other video games are getting a lot of play from you lately?

J_B: Lately I've been playing Shaiya, a free online RPG, and Warhawk, a third-person shooter for the PS3, although my anger has gotten the better of me a few times, and I've broken a few controllers. But it's still fun. Also, the best game of all time, The Sims 2.

JI: What's the best console in history?

J_B: Nintendo 64 for sure. Nothing beats the original Goldeneye, Mario and Zelda.

JI: Are you involved in any extra-curricular activities at school?

J_B: For school, no. My school sucks at everything extra-curricular. But I do train in karate, so I'm not fully inactive.

JI: When did you start learning karate? What was your draw to martial arts?

J_B: In fourth grade, they offered a class once a week after school, and once that ended, I stopped for about a year, but eventually joined full time. My draw to martial arts would have to be the old Bruce Lee movies that my father let me watch when I was younger.

JI: What's your best subject in school?

J_B: History. As boring as U.S. history is, I find world history very interesting. Especially the conquerors, like Genghis Khan and Alexander The Great. It's stuff like that that I like to research on my own.

JI: What's your worst?

J_B: English. I hate having to write picture perfect essays on topics that don't interest me, using literature that doesn't interest me. It's way too formal, and in my opinion, is a waste of time. That is of course, unless I'm going to be a writer, which I'm not. Plus I hate poetry in every way shape and form.

JI: What kind of careers are you thinking of possibly pursuing?

J_B: I've been considering some sort of engineering, or accounting. I know it's boring, but I like working with numbers, solving problems, and organizing things. So I'm hoping one of the two will fit what I'm looking for.

JI: What's the best thing about living in Syracuse?

J_B: The snow. Waking up early to go to school only to find a snow day is the best feeling in the world. I also love to go snowmobiling with my parents. Most people hate the snow because they have to shovel it and it's cold, but I love it.

JI: What's the worst part about living there?

J_B: There's really not that much to do for a city of this size. So the majority of my time is spent around the house. Plus there are too many people, so getting a job is nearly impossible. Even though it doesn't affect me now, New York State has one of the highest tax rates in the country, and also a really corrupt state government.

JI: What kind of music has been getting the most spin from you lately?

J_B: Lately, I've been really into the bands Shinedown, and Seether. Who are both actually performing at a concert here, which I couldn't get tickets to. Bummer. But anyway, when it comes to music, I don't really know a lot of what's out there, just what i am told about by my brother, who turned me on to a lot of the music that I like. But overall, my preferred styles would be rock and metal.

JI: How far apart are you and your brother? Do you hang out together much?

J_B: He's 29, so we're 13 years apart, and unfortunately, we haven't been able to hang out a lot, because he has a wife and a vending machine business, and a 9-5 job, so he's really busy. But when we do get to hang out, it's a lot of fun.

JI: Do you get free junk food from him as a result of the vending machine business?

J_B: His vending machines serve an ice cream similar to dippin' dots, just to clarify, and yes i do get free ice cream. Eating the ice cream out of the defective containers is the best part of helping him load, unload, or whatever he needs done with his machines.

JI: What's the most interesting thing you've done this summer so far?

J_B: The most interesting would have to be visiting some of my family in Georgia. Getting there involved a nice 18 hour and 20 minute car ride, which was the longest and most boring experience of my life, but i got to see my family, so it was worth it. And for the record, I'd rather pay the $400 for a plane ticket than sit in a car for that long again.

JI: What was the last good movie that you saw?

J_B: The Dark Knight, saw it this afternoon. It's my new favorite movie, and the Joker is my new favorite super villain. It was very well made.

JI: What do you think makes the Joker, as well as Heath Ledger's performance so appealing?

J_B: Heath Ledger basically turned himself insane for this part, locking himself alone in a hotel room for weeks, writing a journal in character, it was all for this role, which he performed magnificently in. And as for The Joker, he is Batman's archenemy, and one of the most famous villains of all time. I think it's that combination of history, and performance that makes him so appealing. Plus he looks really cool.

JI: You get to meet any three YTers anywhere you want. Who is there, are where are you meeting?

J_B: That's a tough one, but I'd have to say PeppyDancer, just because she's the only active member I talk to regularly, Buddy, because...well....he made the site, so he can't be that bad, and Rob_can_run, because he's the coolest person on YT. And I don't really care were the place is, but I guess a theme park or something.

JI: When was the last time you had a really good laugh at something?

J_B: During my trip to new jersey, sitting on the balcony of the hotel room. Watching a bunch of kids try to play capture the flag on the beach. There were only 3 or 4 of them on each side, with no boundaries, plus it was very unorganized. Watching them attempt to do anything besides stand there looking at each other was really funny.

JI: Your profile lists you as 'dating'. Describe your significant other and relationship to us.

J_B: Her name is Mimi, she is 17 years old, lives in Chicago. I actually met her on YT around Christmas last year. We are almost total opposites in terms of personality, but it keeps things interesting between us, and fortunately we don't fight all that much. It sucks living so far apart, but there's not much either of us can do about it, so hopefully we can both take a trip and see each other.

JI: Does she still come to YT?

J_B: Every now and then she comes on for a little bit, but not too regularly.

JI: Do you have a parting shot to share with your fellow YTers?

J_B: Always remember, you are absolutely unique. Just like everyone else.

Nostalgia & Malaise II
Excerpt: This was the 'Gulf War' to me, somewhere in the desert where in my childish mind, people lived in tents, rode camels, wore long bandanas and maybe puffed on hookahs like the captivating caterpillar in Disney's 'Alice in Wonderland'.
