Funniest Comments of the Week

In a thread in News Forum about Kurt Cobain's ashes being stolen from Courtney Love's house:
G0DZlLLA: Maybe the person who stole them will make chocolate milk with them and get Cobain's soul trapped inside them.
Matthias: Smells like teen spiritualism.

In the thread "Robotic monkey cyborg army arising" about a chimp controlling a robotic arm with its brain:
mudassar: Is no one else even slightly bothered they bound the monkeys arms? Cruel bastards.
Lou Two: If they let him use his real arms too he'd be approaching the chimp equivolent of Doc Oc
Putterer: Fortunately, when that one turns to evil, there are plenty of spider monkeys out there to fight him.

From nightgoddess's journal "So I just got home from my interview at the library":
nightgoddess: I think it went HORRIBLE. I was given this test about the Dewey Decimal system and I don't know anything about it. So yeah, I fail. When she handed it to me. I heard her mouth "three" to herself so I don't know if I got three right or three wrong on the first page.
Lou Two: Under the Dewey Decimal System 003 represents religion. I think she was telling you you have a prayer's chance.

In a thread discussing a YT meet-up with a previously banned member (Ophelia):
thh: Since she is banned, will you make Ophelia sit at another table from the rest of you at the YT meet-up?
abzurd: nah. But if she wants to speak, she will have to alter her voice.

In a thread titled "In this thread, we pretend we are girls":
Kepi: My boyfriend like, pissed me off today, because he was all like "I don't really feel a connection anymore, I think it's time we broke up" and he like was TOTALLY all trying to interupt me texting my bff, and I'm totally like "Jeezuz Christ, can't you see I'm talking to my BFF? Can this WAIT?!!?" Guys are totally just inconsiderate.
G0DZlLLA: Oh my gosh, I can totally relate to that because the other day I was texting my boyfriend and then he called me and was all "I don't like texting, can we just talk on the phone instead?" and I got SUPER pissed at him!! he needs to learn how to take care of me and my feelings.

Joke of the Week

Finger

A man joins a group of war veterans listening to a brass band in the park. All of a sudden the man in front of him begins to twitch his head backwards and forwards in sudden jerky movements.

“I’m sorry,” he says, “it’s an old injury I got from the war.”

A few moments later, the man to the left of him begins to throw his arms around in the air. “Sorry,” he gasps, “can’t help it. I got it in the war.”

Then the man on his right starts to shake his hand about, faster and faster it goes. “Did you get that in the war as well?” he asks.

“No,” comes the reply. “I got it from my nose and now I can’t get it off my finger.”

JoeInterview's Member Feature

This week's interview features PayN8tention. This interview was conducted by travbowman.

JoeInterview: How did you find YT?

PayN8tention: A day before my birthday I was on google and was bored, so I just typed 'I am bored' on google and i-am-bored.com came up. Eventually I came across YT and then stopped going to IAB altogether.

JI: And what keeps you coming back for more?

PN8: The members and the whole environment they provide. You can always get a completely unbiased outsider's view on any personal situation without any real life consequences of opening up to someone. At the same time, it can get me laughing at my moniter causing whoever is around the house at the time to look at me like I'm crazy, which is always fun.

JI: What's the story behind your screenname?

PN8: It is a shortened version of paynatention222. Paynatention222 is an AIM I made to play a game called Crywolf. Crywolf is a massive multiplayer online game where you find out who the wolves (killers) are if you are sheep (possible victim), and wolves try to confuse the sheep into ousting eachother from the game. My name was originally intended to mean that I'm paying attention to who is the killer, how to avoid suspicion, etc, but I kept it even after the game was shut down.

By the way, anyone who can take the time to sign a first name to help save our game, please sign the petition.

JI: Are you about to start your senior year of high school? If so, what are you looking forward to the most about that?

PN8: I'm actually going into Junior year. I am 17 but that's because I was in Pre-K for two years. Whenever I say that, I usually get a "haha, you failed nap time?" or "haha, you couldn't share your toys?" I had went to this school because I had delayed speech and language, but then my mom wanted me to have the advantage of this other good Pre-K, so I went there the next year.

JI: What kind of extra-curricular activities are you involved in at school?

PN8: X-country and long distance running in track. I run at a pretty consistant pace, so I end up passing a lot of the people who start strong and ahead of me, but then slow down as they get tired.

JI: Will you be getting a summer job?

PN8: Yup! Going through jobs right now. I've already filled out an application for the Demoulas. Might also do something with organizing activities and other stuff with younger kids.

JI: What else are you looking forward to this summer?

PN8: Getting my license is a big one. I didn't see much point in getting it in the middle of Sophomore year because there isn't a school parking lot for Sophomores and I would probably be stuck getting groceries and things like that more than anything else.

My friends have been playing around with the idea of making a movie, and not just the typical two minute 'movies' like we have been doing, and that's something I'm really into doing if we get ourselves motivated to follow through with it.

My family also goes to Maine every summer, and I could bring a couple friends. The house is by the lake and we use the grandparent's boat they have up there to go tubing.

Oh, and YT skyping. I didn't have a mic last year but now I do and I know members a lot better now, so that should be fun.

JI: What would be the basic plot of your movie?

PN8: Not sure, we almost always have a hard time agreeing, but right now we all seem generally happy with a Final Destination parody.

That, or anything that allows my friend to use his application that adds in explosions. This is one small video I was in that Torin used the application for....

*Warning, I say 'sh*t'*

JI: Have you ever thought about doing a documentary on a serious topic like homelessness or animal abuse, and then adding explosions afterwards?

PN8: Hahaha, like the Fox News 11 Anonymous story where they just randomly put an explosion at 0:52? Ya, we could do that.

JI: What's the best movie not involving you that you've seen lately?

PN8: I just realised how long it's been since I have seen a movie. I saw The Labyrinth last summer, and that movie never gets old for me.

JI: Where do you see yourself in ten years?

PN8: Writing? Maybe?...it's a tough question I'm not too sure about because I don't feel myself headed in any definate direction. I just take things as they come. I don't have any particular time range when I plan on doing anything, really. It just depends on what opportunities and people are there, and where my head is at at that moment.

JI: What's the best part about living in New England?

PN8: I like the seasons with the hot summers and but still the cold, snowy winters. Then of course there is the New England Patriots who have been keeping us happy. All the things there are to do in Boston. Massachusetts itself is very historical. Just this year I read 'The Crucible' and my town was mentioned concerning the witch trials.

JI: What's your relationship with your parents like?

PN8: It's ultimately pretty good. Admittedly, sometimes my mom can get nutty, and I've written journals about some of the crazy things she has done, but the times in between we get along well. In the end though, I still think I have a closer relationship with my mom. My dad is comfortable to be around. He's much more laid back and we can do all those fun things my mom would hardly ever do. We like watching Myth Busters, sometimes Deal or No Deal or some other gameshows, bocce, mini golf, badminton, Stratego the board game, Champions of Norrath video game, and a lot of other things, so there's a wide variety of different things we do.

JI: What was your favourite episode of Mythbusters?

PN8: Probably when they shot off a water heater like a rocket. They built a small house and painted it red just to watch a water heater take off inside of it.

JI: What sort of music is getting the most spin from you lately?

PN8: Well let's see. Recent songs I have found and listened to are: Scissor Sisters - I don't feel like dancing and Frou Frou - Let Go.

After listening to Let Go a couple times, now I feel like listening to Mew - Special. Special and Let Go seem similar, but I'm not sure I would catagorize them. For the record, I don't claim to have good taste in music at all, and overall, I don't think I can say I gravitate to any one genre either. I'm not sure how I would catagorize them.

That, and I really like The Fashion songs. Specifically Like Knives and Solo Impala (Take the money and run)

JI: If money were not an issue, where would you most want to travel?

PN8: Ohio to see HelloNicole because she is just that awesome.

I would also like to go on a Caribbean cruise again. I love Nassau in the Bahamas.

JI: If you could meet any three other YTers, what other two would you invite to hang out with you and Nicole?

PN8: Michael_ because that's Nicole's best friend and I've talked to him a bit.

The other would be rawr4896. We were crywolf friends but as I said, crywolf shut down so I haven't talked to her and she hasn't been on YT in nearly a year. I just noticed that six days away will mark her YT anniversary and she has only made 71 posts.

JI: What's the best thing about Nassau?

PN8: Well I only visited as it was just a stop on the cruise, but probably the water. That's no TV stunt, it really is that clear . Nassau was also the place where I went parasailing, which I haven't done since. I'd really like to do that again though.

JI: Do you have a parting shot to share with your fellow YTers?

PN8: Just to have great summer and thank you guys for being around when I needed to vent, share a serious topic and for being around for all the more silly random ones, too.

Who can call themselves a Christian?
Excerpt: Now, before I offend even more people than I will already, let me say that all of this is from a biblical view. If you want to think that following Buddha will lead you to Nirvana – fine. I’m not speaking to that here. I am speaking of Christianity and the teachings of the Bible.
