Funniest Comments of the Week

Random thread:
CarolineYES: I've never been kissed yet...I'm pure as the driven snow
snowbdr88: How far was I driven?

Journal discussing the latest potential YT update:
BobFudge: I know what it is, Kraken. It's this new technology that like, when you post on a journal, your computer shoots skittles at you! Or M&M's, your choice. It's pretty sweet.
_godot: I just got a skittle in my eye, now I can't see properly. can I sue, do you think?
Lou Two: You think you've got it bad. I was assaulted by Eminem
_godot: You should take mathers into your own hands
Lou Two: I'd never lower myself to such shady actions.

In the Generals thread containing a blog of a guy who acted for Disney World as one of their Jack Sparrows:
ConfusedOne: "I had a lady hump my leg one day in the park." Wow.
travbowman: Tramp was not available for comment.

From a journal in which YTers talked about 'naked souls' after a post containing that reference:
jennypehhy: Around, all around, the angels gather. My dread grows as the angry hand of Heaven falls against my naked soul. It crushes me, and darkly my blood drips to the broken ground. In horror I beg forgiveness while death looms. Now alone, my fervent plea falls upon cold eyes.
jennypehhy: You people are WEIRD!!
amyla516: Hey, you're the one whose soul is naked.
CrunchySocks: That's pretty innapropriate if you ask me. Especially considering she's underaged.
amyla516: Good point. Can kids go to juvie for indecent exposure?
chips2001: When it's a soul, only on the metaphysical plane of existence. The philosophical police arrest you. Questioning takes some time. The 'Who are you?' portion of the interview is known to go on for some weeks in certain instances.

In a thread about Princess Beatrice:
Sammy: The Duchess of York has accused critics of her daughter Princess Beatrice of driving her to anorexia with remarks about her figure.
Boredofu: It might do her some good if she jogged to anorexia rather than being driven.

Joke of the Week

Icky Unsanitary Catastrophe

A little toddler was bothering her daddy when he was trying to do some work. She was continuously poking him on the face. To get her back and be silly, he pretended to chew on her fingers. Then when he had to get back to work, the little girl was examining her fingers questionably. She then asked her father curiously, " Daddy, where did my booger go?"

JoeInterview's Member Feature

This week's interview features CarolineYES. This interview was conducted by chips2001 and travbowman.

JoeInterview: How did you find YT?

CarolineYES: My daughter actually found it on I.A.B and created an account on here using my name, she thought it was quite hilarious winding people up. She then showed me what she had done and I made her delete the account ,I lurked a while and liked the site so I created my own account, this led to a lot of people calling me out as an alter which really pissed me off.

It took a while to convince a lot of people that I was telling the truth but I think when people got to know me they could tell it was two different people.

JI: And what keeps you coming back for more?

CYES: My husband works away and I get extremely bored on a night time, coming here just makes things a bit easier. I have got to know some really nice people from different parts of the world and no matter what time of day or night I log on there is always someone I know on line ready to keep me company for a few hours. What I also like about this place is that unlike a lot of forum sites it doesn't seem to attract a lot of guys wanting to just talk dirty.

JI: What does your husband do?

CYES: My husband is in the military working for the R.A.F....He is an armed security guard. He was a mechanic for 22 years. He then joined the territorial army and through doing that got to hear about jobs going within the military for better pay and a proper pension at the end of it,retiring at age 55. The only downfall to the job is that he works away 4 days a week, which was very hard getting used to but it's getting easier.

Hopefully he will be able to get based closer to home soon which means I get him home every night.

JI: What's the explanation behind the "YES" in your screenname?

CYES: My screen name is not what everyone seems to assume it is. Everyone always believes it's because I say "Yes" in reply to everything asked of me. It is actually the title of a Kaiser Chiefs song whom I was a big fan of at the time when I signed up to Y.T. I use the same name on a few forums but have at times used Carolineyes which leads most people to read it as Carolin eyes.

JI: Who else besides the Kaiser Chiefs are getting the most spin from you these days musically?

CYES: I have a very widespread taste musically depending on my mood but I love all the soft rock classics ie Reo Speedwagon, Scorpions. I am not really into the recent chart stuff but try to keep in touch with the modern music scene due to my youngest daughters involvement in the music industry. She is in her own girl group at the tender age of 11 and they raise lots of money for charity.

JI: How did she get her start in music?

CYES: She was trying to sing before she could even talk!

She entered her first talent show at age 6 and was 'Spotted' by the organiser (a well known local vocal coach) as someone he would really like in his singing group, unfortunately other commitments with her dancing and drama did not make it possible, she entered other numerous talent shows and was placed first time and time again.I managed to juggle things around to enable her to pursue her singing further because it is something she really enjoys doing....She now sings with a local girl group called 'Young Incandescence' and I am proud to say she's raised lots of money for local charities.

JI: That's fantastic. Does all the performing cut into her study time?

CYES: Not really, she is due to go to secondary school this year and is currently top of her class in her studies.

If I ever thought her extra curricular activities were effecting her school work I would have to cut things down a little but from a young age she always said that she wants to go into television/theater so everything she is involved in is actually going toward her future...We also make it clear to her though that it is a career a vast number of people are aiming for and that studies are just as important as skills and talents to make it into the academies she will need to attend when she reaches 16.

JI: Sounds like you're doing a good job of grounding her. Do you run into other parents of kids in the industry that make you want to cringe with what they're allowing their kids to turn into?

CYES: The only time I have come across this is recently since she started entering music festivals, these children entering these competitions are not like real children,I believe most are doing it because the parents want them to rather than for the enjoyment of it all.

Most of these kids come from 'Money backgrounds' and have been having speech and vocal coaching lessons since they were old enough to speak,it's pretty sad watching a child enter a competition and break down in tears because they don't feel they did good enough in their parents eyes.

Our daughter knows we will be proud of her no matter whether she places first or last ,the last adjudicator actually commented that it was a pleasure to watch someone who was obviously enjoying giving a performance.

JI: What was the teenage CarolineYES like?

CYES: I was a very stubborn teenager and a bit rebellious when I reached about 14...I believed I knew better than my parents when they tried to give me good sensible advice, this led to a very strained relationship between my mother and I.

My father was more patient with me,probably with me being the only girl with four brothers!

The sad thing is looking back now I really wished I had listened to my mum, she was always right and I was wrong.

JI: Do you have a better relationship with your mum now?

CYES: Fantastic! My mum is awesome and It may sound sad but she is my best friend too....We go everywhere together, even out drinking once a week.

Our relationship really blossomed once I left home and had my first born, this time when she gave out advice I was glad to take it.

JI: How did you and your husband meet?

CYES: My best friend and I had been Christmas shopping and we were worn out,she persuaded me to go into this pub for a drink and there he was stood behind the bar,We just like stared at each other like a pair of idiots,it was a really strange feeling like I knew him from somewhere before....We went back to the pub later on that evening and we got chatting properly and it off straight away....We moved in together after 3 weeks and everyone said it would never last,I think we proved them wrong because we are still together after almost 22 years.

We've had our ups and downs over the years like most couples but we always sort it out. I believe he is my soul mate.

JI: If in a few years a kid of yours decides they want to move in with someone they've only known for three weeks, how would you react?

CYES: Good question! I would probably tell them to wait, despite the fact that's exactly what I did.

JI: Where was the last good trip that you took?

CYES: I'm not very adventurous when it comes to traveling,I don't even possess a passport so have never been out of the U.K. I am terrified at the thought of even boarding an aeroplane. I also feel sick at the thought of going anywhere by sea.

I know it's a stupid irrational fear and hope to combat it soon and take a first trip abroad. We do enjoy traveling around the U.K and I enjoy having a few days in London once a year.

JI: What's the best part about going to London?

CYES: It's just the massive contrast about the whole thing compared to where I live (A very small fishing village in North Yorkshire) Where as in London the whole place seems to be alive 24/7.

I love the way everyone just goes about everyday life like little ants getting on with things, where I live everyone sticks their noses in even if you fart out of tune.

JI: What are the advantages to living in a small village?

CYES: The advantages I suppose are that it's a beautiful place and people tend to rally round and help one another,we have a lot of elderly people in the village and it's nice to know that they are taken care of.

The primary school is also fantastic because it's so small, the standard of education is very high.

JI: What are you most looking forward to this summer?

CYES: I can't wait for some sunshine...The winter seems to have gone on forever,I love walking and during the summer I try to walk about 10 miles a day.

Because the weather as been particularly wet over the last few months I've not got much walking in and have gained a bit of weight so am looking forward to shifting some of that.

JI: You could meet up with any three YTers to hang out for a weekend. Who do you meet with, and what activities are you participating in?

CYES: Without a doubt definitely Kelly (4evame) She is my favourite person on here...We would probably just get totally wasted, talk lots about pets and I always wanted to go to Wales so she could show me all the best sights. Blupineridge is another one,the one person on here who was always nice to me from day one...She confuses me sometimes with her ways and it would be really interesting to get to know the " REAL "Blu.

So many people intrigue me on here I can't really choose just three TBH... Vic and Harley are wonderful, would love to spend time with them..........Oh and Mich! She's lovely but don't see her so much on here anymore.

Bendaman would be interesting...He really keeps my interest going,I would probably spend the weekend trying to win him over. I chose more than three but there is so many more I haven't mentioned...I'm sure they know who they are!

JI: What would most YTers be surprised to learn about the 'real' CarolineYES if they met you?

CYES: I think that a lot just assume I have a strange sense of humour and that's about it, but I can be very serious too. If a topic of conversation comes up of something of interest to me I can have a long drawn out in depth detailed discussion about it for ages.

Also a lot of people are unsure of how to take me in real life,I guess I come across as a pretty guarded person at first but people seem to pretty much relax in my company once they realise I'm just me!

JI: What "serious" topic do you feel most passionately about recently?

CYES: There are so many really but the last lengthy debate I had was with my mum and sister in law about a magazine article in which a 15 year old boy was given six months to live through cancer, the parents decided not to tell him. They took him on dream holidays and arranged for him to meet football heroes among other things,he obviously deteriorated with his health through these times and was told by his parents that it was just a recovery period, this lad was a strapping 6 footer of about 15 stone originally and he wasted away to nothing.

On his death bed his parents said he looked at them searchingly for answers and yet they still told him he was going to be fine....I was horrified that anyone could lie to a 15 year old that way,he knew he was dying and his parents continually lied to him, poor boy died with the knowledge his parents were liars....Although I have great sympathy for any parent losing a child,I believe that it would have been better to tell him so he could have used the remainder of his life doing and preparing things for himself.

My mum said she agreed with the parents,my sister in law was torn at what she would do and I was adamant that if I was in that situation I would have to be totally honest to my child.

JI: What's the last thing you had a really good laugh at?

CYES: I laugh a lot.....Friday night is a real blast,I really let my hair down...Usually spend the whole night having a laugh, not really anything specific though! Oh tell a lie the last time I really very nearly pmsl was this guy walking down the street and he was all dressed up in this suit, this was in a real chav town so he looked out of place anyway....There was this huge pile of dog sh*t and he walked straight in it and slipped and slided for quite a way down the path I actually laughed out loud and he just glared at me tutted and carried on down the street.

Yeahhh I have a sick sense of humour.

JI: What actor or actress really gets you laughing every time?

CYES: I love Kathy Burke from Gimme Gimme, she is absolutely hilarious,I also love Lee Evans, they were both in this one film together called The Martins...Absolutely hilarious.

JI: Any final words of wisdom to share with your fellow YTers?

CYES: Just remember It's nice to be important but more important to be nice...A bit corny but I love that saying.

Excerpt: It happened sometime at the turn of my fifth decade – the time of life where you can’t quite see the end of the road but have a pretty good idea of where it is going. It’s the kind of time when memories of how you “used to be” turn from simple reminiscence to regret.
