Some poor, spammish n00b's thoughts on the Nintendo DS vs the Sony PSP: yo-mama: If you want to continue learning the truth choose the psp if you want to continue a gay life and forget all this happened take the ds the choice is yours. HylianNinja: Morpheus: I imagine that right now you're feeling a bit like Mario. Tumbling down that Warp Pipe? Neo: You could say that. Morpheus: I can see it in your eyes. You have the look of a man who accepts what he sees because he's expecting to have fun. Ironically, this is not far from the truth. Do you believe in gay, Neo? Neo: No. Morpheus: Why not? Neo: 'Cause I don't like the idea that I'm not in control of my fanboyism. Morpheus: I know exactly what you mean. Let me tell you why you're here. You're here because you know something. What you know, you can't explain. But you feel it. You felt it your entire life. That there's something wrong with the Video Game Industry. You don't know what it is, but it's there. Like a splinter in your mind -- driving you mad. It is this feeling that has brought you to me. Do you know what I'm talking about? Neo: The Sony Corporation?

Joke of the Week
Afterlife
A couple made a deal that whoever died first would come back and inform the other of the afterlife. After many years, the husband was the first to go, and true to his word, he made contact with his wife in a dream.
"Mary... Mary..." he called.
"Is that you, Fred?" she asked.
"Yes," he said. "I've come back like we agreed."
"What's it like?" Mary asked.
"Well, I get up in the morning. I have sex. I have breakfast. I run around the golf course. I have sex. I bathe in the sun, and then I have sex twice. I have lunch, another romp around the golf course, then sex pretty much all afternoon. After supper, golf course again, and sex again," he said.
"Oh Fred, you surely must be in heaven!" Mary proudly stated.
"Not exactly," Fred replied. "I'm a rabbit on a golf course in Arizona."

JoeInterview's Member Feature
This week's interview features Kraken. This interview was conducted by amyla516 and travbowman.
JoeInterview: How did you find YT?
Kraken: I found YT like I find most websites. I was bored, extremely, so what better thing to do than go on google.com and type in "I am bored"? That's when I came acrossed i-am-bored.com. I played around with the site, then left it alone for a few weeks.
I eventually ventured back to google, this time looking for quizzes, questions, anything to keep me entertained. And guess what? I found YouThink. For the first couple weeks I didn't wander out of questions, not really noticing everything else. It wasn't long though before I was more curious, so I decided to make an account, and thus began my great adventure with this website.
JI: What keeps you coming back for more?
Kr: Honestly? The drama. If I come onto the website, and there's nothing interesting to read, I find other things to do. But if there's a good, drama-filled thread that's reached over 300+ posts, it gives me something to occupy my time. Especially when I'm bored, I'll usually read the entire threads, which can take a while. I also have friends on here, and it's fun to read what they've written. But the drama is really what keeps me coming back for more.
JI: Why'd you switch screennames?
Kr: When I first started back in October 2005, I used a screenname that I was accustomed to using: Chelsea8988. It just fit, it was easy to remember, so I stuck to that. After a while though, less than a year, I noticed how creative people were regarding their screennames. I began to get sick of mine, and started thinking of different names I could use. Based on my interests I picked Kraken, because I enjoy the Pirates of the Caribbean movies, and it just stuck from there.
JI: What's it like having a s/o who also has an account on YT? Do you have to watch what you say?
Kr: It was hard at first, because I realized there were some things that I'd told YT that I hadn't told him yet. In the beginning I would want advice, but not necessarily want him to see the thread. Especially if it was relationship advice, because that would be awkward, at least for me. I've even seen some of his threads, which have made me raise a brow, but I've gotten over it since then.
In general I find it very weird to have anyone on YT with me from real life. My dad had an account here for about 2 days (I was absolutely INSANE for asking him to come on) but he left soon after, not really liking the atmosphere. Having Jordan (omagablade) here has been great though, I love being able to talk to him on here as well as in real life.
JI: How long have you two known each other?
Kr: Since Senior year of high school. We met in a Scriptwriting class, and had always gotten along. I thought he was sweet, and we began talking online a lot as well as in class. We were friends for the first few months, and it wasn't long before Prom came along. We were talking about it, saying we didn't have dates, and he didn't plan on going. Well, I hinted that I wouldn't mind going with him, so he asked me out! We've been together ever since, and he's been amazing.
JI: What's it like working at the horse track?
Kr: Well, it's not exactly the horse track. The location is actually probably 45 minutes away from Portland Meadows, the nearest track.
It's an interesting job though, being in a call center and taking wagers from people over the phone. They get rid of thousands of dollars just at the chance of having more, and for the most part they lose. I saw a man go from having over $85,000 down to $700, in a matter of weeks. The last time I checked, he was back up to $30,000. I don't understand how people do it, but it's obviously a habit and for most an addiction.
Regardless of their problems, it's an interesting job, and I enjoy the people I get to talk to, from all over the country, with different accents and ways of wagering. The only downside of the job is being unable to go on YT, because we're only allowed to go to horse racing websites.
JI: Does it make you cynical about people when you watch them playing with big sums of money? Does it make you more or less likely to gamble yourself?
Kr: I don't know if I'd say cynical, but definitely jealous. Especially the ones where you know they have to be very rich. I wish I could just spend my money like that with absolutely no remorse, but it's just not possible. I do remember hearing about a woman who called in though, crying and upset because a man had gambled away all of their money. They were going to lose their house and possessions, and she wanted us to close her account. Unfortunately we had to tell her no, we can't do that. So it does get depressing at times.
I've made a deal with myself regarding the betting. The only way I'll wager, is if one of my customers tips me. They're allowed to tip as much as they want, so hopefully someday I'll get one. Doubtful, though.
JI: What other kinds of jobs have you had, if any?
Kr: I've had two other jobs. My first job started the summer before my senior year, where I was in an outbound call center where I had to call people and find out if they were satisfied with their recent car services and purchase. Very boring work, although I enjoyed the people I worked with.
Unfortunately they laid all of us off, and I was forced to look for something else. I managed to find a temporary job at Hallmark, where I worked cashier, while I trained for the one I currently have. I'm glad it didn't last more than 2 weeks though, because I really don't like retail. Plus my feet hurt like hell by the end of the day
JI: What do you hope to do as a career eventually?
Kr: At college I am exploring my options, and I consider myself on a long journey toward figuring out just what I want to do. For a while I really wanted to be a Massage Therapist, but a series of events which included me realizing how expensive the school would be, and my parents telling me to explore my options, made me decide to go to a community college instead.
Now I'm trying to decide between something in Psychology/Counselling or maybe something in the computer field. Besides massage therapy I had no real ambitions (singing doesn't really count for me) so I'm in a career and life planning class, trying to figure out what I should do. And hopefully I can figure that out pretty soon.
JI: Describe life in the Pacific Northwest.
Kr: Life in the Pacific Northwest is amazing. More specifically Oregon, and the Portland area. What's better than being only an hour away from both the beach and the mountains? You get the best of both worlds and are never left wondering what either are like. Plus it makes it nice when you want to go on vacation, and you have more options to chose from.
What I really like about living here is the good weather. Sure there are the occasional floods, but unlike everywhere else there is no FLOOD season. We don't have to deal with tornadoes or hurricanes. Sure there's the very rare chance that we could have a tsunami. But come on, I don't think anyone expects that to happen anytime soon.
The only thing I don't like about my area specifically (Portland/Beaverton) is that we don't get any snow. We'll have maybe one big storm every other year or so.
JI: What are you looking forward to most in 2008?
Kr: At this point in time I'm looking forward to seeing my grandma the most. She's had pancreatic cancer for a year or so now and I want to spend as much time with her as possible. She lives in Minnesota, and we're going to end up driving over there (a three day trip or so) which should be fun.
Other than that though, I'm looking forward to summer and the new movies coming out! I'm a Harry Potter fanatic and I'm excited for the next movie. Besides that I just have school and work, since nothing else exciting is planned yet.
JI: Which Harry Potter movie has been the best adaptation from the books so far?
Kr: Honestly I'd have to say the first two. They aren't my favorite movies, but I remember watching them and not thinking about what they left out or anything like that. There were little details that were left out, but nothing that made any big difference to me or anyone else that I went with.
My favorite of the movies though is the 5th one, because the storylines are getting more interesting. And even though it left some big things out I can get over that and enjoy the fact that it's a movie and it can't be 6 hours long (though that would be really cool!).
JI: Did you get the last book the day it came out?
Kr: Of course! Right at midnight. I stood in line for approximately 3 hours waiting to get the book. I even wore a shirt with Severus Snape on the front, because I was absolutely convinced that he was good and that everything would be ok. Unfortunately though, we had to walk home, which took like 2 1/2 hours. But as soon as I got home I had to read, and read like 4-5 chapters. Yes, I'm obsessed. I plan on going at midnight to see the next two films as well.
JI: Are Radcliffe and Co. going to seem too old by the time the final film comes out?
Kr: I don't think so really. What with so many adult actors playing teenage roles, I think it won't make any difference if they aren't the same age as their characters. What counts is that they've grown up with the films, and the fans feel connected to them. And besides, how much older will they really be? They'll only be a few years older, so it's not like they'll be 30 pretending to be 17.
JI: Have you ever made the three day drive to MN? Is it a rough experience?
Kr: We drove over there last summer, which turned out to be a blast. Driving there we were following our grandparents in their motor home, and we'd get to stay with them in different states for each night. I enjoyed being able to spend so much time with them, since I miss them a lot. We did a bit of sight seeing, but for the most part we saved that for the way back.
The only really rough part about driving to and from Minnesota is making sure you stop to find a place to stay. On one of the nights back we waited too long, and we had one hell of a time trying to find a hotel that wasn't book up for the night. Luckily though we managed to find one, since neither of us were looking forward to driving all night.
The experience was amazing though, and I got to see a lot of places I'd never seen before. Yellowstone, Mt Rushmore. It was great! The next time I might even try and see a YTer or two if I get the chance. I was supposed to before, but never got the chance.
JI: Pick 3 YTers and a location. Who are you meeting, and where are you going?
Kr: Sa-Chan, InstinctSage, and niknik2oo5.
We'd probably end up going to the zoo or something, and hanging out all day in Portland. It's hard to pick just three people, but if I had to choose they would be it. I'd expect we'd probably spend a lot of time walking around, and eating at some foreign place. Maybe niknik could convince us to go to a Hookah bar or something, if there are even any in Portland.
If we could go to any random location to hand regardless of costs or money I'd say I'd want to go to either Hawaii or Canada, and do all the stuff you would do in those locations.
JI: What's on your Christmas wish list?
Kr: Lots of stuff. CDs from various artists including TLC and Britney Spears (Shocker!). DVDs such as The Holiday, Wildhogs, Happy Feet, and 28 Weeks Later. I'm pretty easy to shop for since I like gift cards and anything just generally odd and funky. Key chains, candy, weird t-shirts and toe socks. I like pretty much everything so I'm pretty open to what people want to get me. Even books appeal to me since I love to read.
JI: Have a parting shot to share with your fellow YTers?
Kr: I know it sounds corny, but don't take life too seriously. Try to be happy, whatever that might mean to you. Be who you want to be, and don't let an occasional YT bashfest hurt you. It's the internet!
