I did not read the book, but my Husband did and according to him, the movie was drastically different.
But anyway, I was very afraid to see this movie because I thought it would be sad. There was a few parts that did make me sad, but it was bearable.
This movie was beautifully shot. It was very dramatic in some scenes. I was hoping that it would tell the stories from the horses point of view, like in the book (and like Black Beauty). It didn't. But it kept my attention...in fact this move seemed very short. I'm glad it had a happy ending. Any horse person should see this movie, for sure.

Just saw it. It was ok.
I agree that it was beautifully shot. Some scenes were really good, but I have the feeling it would've been a better movie if they had just edited it down a little.

I'm one of those people who sees horses on the same level of cows, and greatly enjoys a burger.
Would I still like this movie? I mean, I like Seabiscuit.

dad you wanna see a movie 'WAR HORSE' uh no dad there's really no actual war in it 'WAR HORSE' it's just cinematography and plot convenience after plot convenience with one note characters 'WAR HORSE' ffs all right. yeah i didn't like this at all. just way too obvious and silly.
but Benedict Cumberbatch! that was cool.

I am way too scared to see this. I've been an equestrian for 10 years and I heard if you've ever lost a horse, or been separated from one you were close to, that you should never see this movie. Therefore, I refuse to see it.
BUT I HEARD IT WAS GOOD!
