I don't know much about any of the actors, I'm just excited to see one of my favorite stories made into a movie! I really hope it is successful and that they stick to the book relatively decently. Finally a movie that I wouldn't mind seeing in theatres this winter.

I enjoyed the books and I thought that the movie did a good job. It strayed from the plot and mixed some things but it still held together.

I haven't read the books.
I did enjoy the movie but the pacing a a bit off for me.
I'll chalk it up to it being his first live action film as director.

I didn't think the movie was all that. The best part for me was the weird super fast Martian dog creature.

I did not have any interest in seeing this movie. But I went. And it was actually a decent movie. I usually hate this type of Sci-fi stuff but this one can be an exception. It was not too hard to follow and actually didn't seem as long as it was.
The dog creature was funny.
I liked the bit of "real world" earth parts in the movie. The end was neat.

it was prettttty average. loved the special effects. it had a lot of great ideas, but had trouble pulling them off. too much of an imbalance between light-hearted adventure and angsty drama. one of my favorite scenes was when he was going all f-cking Sparta on the thousand aliens or whatever and it kept flashing back to his family being murdered. yet that was ruined by the f-cking alien-dog thing. that was an intense scene ruined by the audience's laughter. also it was just all over the place, script wise. i had a hard time knowing what and where and when something was happening. but i means it's ok and i enjoyed it. for the most part |

The white apes seemed waaay too big. In the books they always seemed smaller and easier to fight. I was most excited to see the tharks on screen. Ever since I read the first book I've been trying to imagine them. The way they made woola wasn't how I imagined him, but he was still cute.
