... because Rag_Doll_ f*cked it up the first go round!

We really loved this.

I liked the story, loved Gal Gadot and Chris Pine; I hadn't seen them in anything else before.

I still don't see why it was necessary for Steve to have to die, though!

Totally deserving of the hype, imo.

didn't like it.

i loved Gadot and Pine. they nailed the roles and they had a legitimate chemistry and old-school movie romance that worked very well

most of the action was solid.

it was HEADS AND TAILS better than Suicide Squad and Batman V Superman

but it was so terribly written. just...awful, really. the dialogue, the trite plot, the nonstop march of cliches, the f-cking terrible third act and ending (aside from the Captain America moment with Pine. you know what i'm talking about. that was really good)

the score was also pretty bad. it was this loud, ugly distracting mess. except for the WW theme. that was badass

it's a good DC movie, but felt like a bad Marvel movie

like i think i would've walked out of it going 'well it was *okay*. had a lot of flaws, but that was a nice ending and a nice message

AND THEN ARIES HAPPENED

that was awful. terrible. horrible. it chokeslammed the movie into hell and the poor thing couldn't crawl back. if i started listing the reasons why it was so bad i'd kill an hour. f-ck.

also also, i feel like the movie could've actually been more feminist, but that's a discussion that i think could become a headache really quick so

Uhhhh it was alright. Third act really falls flat. All plot twists were like really telegraphed. Like.. as soon as some things were said, i was like "yeah this is that" and then i was right. Gal gadot was great as diana and chris pine was great as steve trevor. I didnt a hundred percent buy their romance but i thought they had good chemistry. Thought doctor poison looked cool and she had a really cool serial 40's comic villain vibe and that scene where she and the german guy throw the gas in that room and then they make that cheesy joke and cackle it was great! I loved the earnestness of wonder woman and her naïveté was great without being annoying like i thought it was gonna go. Really good stuff all around but yeah like krm said theres a moment in the third act where everything just kinda comes to a screeching halt and it really brings you out of it

I liked how chris pine was like "yeah maybe men are just evil yknow?maybe aries doesnt exist and its just the pure evilness in men that are bad". And i thought that was ballsy but i knew that aries was real and that it was the mustache guy like as soon as he gave them the money. Would have been better for him to be a teaser setting up future sequels instead of having him be the cgi monster. Cause god that was a mess. It had merits though i did like how it wasnt like immediate greek armor it was just stuff lying about that he fashioned into it but yeah the lightning effects were garbage and looked really really dated. would have been much better to use the men are bad speech and then her see aries in the window and them have that speech and then her be like "yeah no men are evil but theyre so much more" or WHATEVER and then her kick the sh-t out of doctor poison

Overall i liked it and have a little more faith in what they decide to do next.

Also im really sad because i always totally thought that chris pine would be a PERFECT hal jordan and now i'll never see that come to light and
Steve trevor is totally not dead im calling it right now. My personal theory is that flash is gonna pull him out of time.

One last thing sorry

That scene where she thinks that guy is aries and just wails on him is phenomenal and what makes it better is hes just a guy. And shes like throwing him 50 feet in the air and slammin him down its fantastic honestly i know hes on magic gas or whatever but hes still like.. just a dude

Like, I'm not overanalyzing a movie about a comic book character, that's all.

I thought the action scenes were good, and I found them to be reasonably believable for a superhero film.

However, I couldn't shake the feeling of it being dull.
I wouldn't even be able to pinpoint why it felt like that.
Possibly the world was literally dull and also not engaging at all.
I really don't know.

I agree with your initial statement. Generally I'd rather gouge my eyes out than watch a tired superhero or villain movie. There are very few that I even like the idea of enough to even watch.

KRM, I don't care if you like it or not, I'm just commenting on this movie, so.

I think people overanalyze a lot of things, that's just my opinion.

There are no perfect movies.

I went last night with two friends (dudes), and I think we all walked out with approximately equal opinions of how good we thought it was.

I had some issues with the dialogue in spots. It was clunky, and some of Chris Pine's delivery was irritating.

The action was done superbly well, I thought, and the depictions of war were...refreshing? That's maybe a weird word. But we're so used to WWII Bad Nazi Stories that it can get tiring, even in superhero context. This managed to rise above that and actually show the horrors of war through Diana's eyes. All of her war-related scenes were just heartbreaking. In ways, it was a better fish-out-of-water story than the first Thor movie, which actually did that pretty damn well.

I also admit that I cried like a baby within 10m...the training sequence young Diana is watching, with all the ladies being so badass...
