Alas, I have returned, and I really enjoyed it. It's been a while since I saw the first one so I can't say for certain which I liked more, but this sequel definitely holds up quite well.

If you're thinking about seeing it, don't wait for it to come out on DVD, it deserves to be seen in the theater. There's some great scenes that I would love to recount, but I don't want to spoil any of it.

It made me jump, but then immediately bust out laughing. I enjoyed it.

Im not sure if this should go in a spoiler or not, so Im just going to anyways
This one was MUCH cheesier than the first. And it all seems so rushed through at the end. They could have made it so much scarier but it was just 1-2-3-done. I expected so much more.

But I love that it was a parallel story/partial prequel. Cool twist.

I think that happened because I deleted my first post in this thread, I decided it wasn't exactly appropriate.

I liked this, just as much as the first one. I didn't realized until I Googled it later that Katie was Katie from the first one .. duh. Very creepy and suspenseful though, enjoyed it a lot! 7.5/10

It made me jump twice, but after this teenaged boy screamed over nothing, I couldn't stop giggling the during the rest of the movie. The plot tie-in was neat; overall - meh. Scary - no, and once again I wanted bad things to happen to such annoying people.
Seriously, the guy never spends time with the baby, and who leaves a teenager alone for 5+ hours after thinking someone broke into the house? Not once did they call to check in, or they'd have known something was wrong.

I am glad we didn't have to pay the regular 16 bucks for it (2 free tickets via school contest), but I am pissed two small sodas cost $7.00. I want my $7.00 back.

The beginning was so slow, but it did make me jump at certain parts. The end definitely set it up for a 3rd one.

There were a few parts I jumped at and I did end up laughing at the kid when he went for a wonder around the house. In my opinion the first one was a lot scarier.

I was laughing most of the time too. I jumped so bad the first time popcorn flew out of the bucket I was holding though, haha.

What I want to know is where the hell the girl went when the door closed behind her and she got locked out. I mean, she was gone for a long time, why wouldnt she have called her parents to get a spare key or gone to the neighbors or SOMETHING.

The end is what bothered me the most. When Katy comes to their house and kills them its all done so quick and theres really no scary stuff, its just POW hes dead-POW shes dead- end. There was no creepy stalking-ness or buildup or demon stomping/growling/something/ANYthing. They could have done SO much more.

It was like when I procrastinate writing a long essay, the body of the paper is decent, but conclusion is always half assed and rushed through.

People need to stop saying the first one was scary. I've seen more frightening episodes of Sesame Street.

Seriously, this guy counting to ten has more tension and a bigger climax than the entire first film with its cast of annoying idiots, bad script and poor acting.

I can't imagine the second film will be any better, especially if people are saying it's less scary than the first trip to where the air is sweet...

The first one was really low budget though wasnt it? I think they did a good job for what they had to work with. And it was a lot "scarier" than other movies that are supposed to be scary, but end up being centered around skanky chicks boobs and cliche slasher crap. Ive never seen a movie like Paranormal Activity. I think that might be why I give it any credit though.

I really liked the first one. I was so scared.
Especially when the demon was dragging her along the floor... out of the bed that they were sleeping in.

In response to Pudding
The most intense jump-scene for me was the cabinet part in the kitchen, that one really caught me off guard and got my heart racing.

This was another good one, although like many in here, I liked the first one better. I would to see a third one though, I think it should be a trilogy.
