So we saw this last night. First off, it was a marvelous film, with a good story line, good acting, and a good message. I might have preferred more detail on how the kid developed his approach, but that would probably have turned off more people than it turned on.

I've seen this twice now and have no regrets. There are a couple of minor nerdulent issues in the film that even I did not notice without looking at retrosheet... so not a big deal at all, but anyway:
When Billy Beane keeps telling Art Howe to start Hatteberg at 1st and not Pena (Dye in right, Justice at DH), the film gives the impression that Hatteberg was on the bench... he was still in the lineup, just as the DH.
Otherwise, it was amazing and met my extremely high expectations. It would have been nice to have a bit about the 2002 draft and the discussions(Mark Teahen, Nick Swisher, Jeremy Brown) but that would have lowered the quality of the film as a coherent piece.
Most people will like this, but probably not as much as I did.

"Don't miss it if you can!"
It was very enjoyable. The pace was good, the acting was good, the handling of problems other than statistical was well done. Even the cinematography was first rate.

I was happy that the first player suggestion by Peter Brand to Billy Beane was my favorite Met reliever in a long time, Chad Bradford.
The movie was slow paced, but great if you're a fan of the game. Pretty much exactly what baseball is.

good movie, even though baseball isn't one of my favorite sports. baseball movies tend to be very good, and this one didn't disappoint one bit.

I tend to hate sports movies but absolutely loved this one. Probably because there was very little footage of actors trying to be athletes. The story was a great one, and I'm glad to see that sabrmetrics got some love in the mainstream. I'm sure the book focused only on what would be interesting to the reader, and I'm sure Hollywood took some of their own liberties as well, but it was so cool to see what (mostly) played out in real life.
Pitt and Hill were both fantastic and deserved their Oscar nods.

Snoozefest all the way.
I was actually looking forward to it from the previews, but it really doesn't go anywhere.

You're wrong.

Maybe it was just seeing Jonah Hill in a serious/boring as ever role...
He's a way better funny guy.

He's not bad in this, but I'm a baseball nerd to put it mildly.
At least he's not as bad as Rob Schenider

It wasn't bad for a sports movie. I think my friend built this movie up too much so I was kind of disappointed after I watched it.
