f*ck Draco Malfoy is a d*ck. He caused the rise of the planet of the apes. No wonder Harry Pothead hates him

John Lithgow is in a movie again? The last I saw him, he was in a soup ad.

advertisement is where the real money is if you're not a star.

This is apparently really good, despite the awful trailer. Who'd have thunk it?

poor Andy Serkis, rarely plays a role where you can see his face. I'm guessing he'll be an ape.
This said, i really hope it's going to be better than what Burton did few years ago.

If you can, see this movie with a microbiologist. The rant that they give you after the film about the "junk science" in it is well worth hearing. Watching his little rage explosion after the credits finished was almost as much fun as the film.
I quite liked the film. I thought the CGI was quite seamless. I've never been a fan of the "Planet of the Apes" series (original or reboot), but this drew me in.

Excellent documentary. Really captures the history of Detroit.

This movie was over-rated, drawn out, and cheesey. Entertaining, but I was pretty disappointed by it.

I hated it. Incredibly cheesy and dissapointing. Reboot of crappy sequels to a Great Movie.

A good example of what popcorn/summer movies should be about. Entertainment, suspend reality for a couple hours, leaving us happier and $11.50 poorer.

I was expecting to be entertained more than it entertained me. I saw the latest X-Men when it was out, and it was entertaining and thrilling. This was far from thrilling.

Just saw this today and really enjoyed it a lot. Nice to see how the authority passes hands as the humans and apes progress. Interesting psychology stuff.
And the facial animation for Caesar was incredible. So emotive! Hats off to Serkis and the special effects gang.
Sure, it dragged a little here and there, and the pacing tripped up a couple of times, but these are just critical niggles. Overall, a damn good popcorn film that's sparked my interest to see the original pictures.

I'm skeptical of this film. I love the original and all it's sequels and the way the revolution is portrayed there may seem dated but . . . i like it. I avoided Tim Burtons remake conciously. I was also shocked to hear that the apes in this use sign language rather than speech.

Isn't that because it's a prequel and the apes haven't yet developed the ability to speak?

Oh, yeah i forgot about that. The sequels never really specified when the apes started to talk. The story goes that one ape, aldo, said no to human. How they took on the full language though has never been told. When they eventually do start speaking, in the inevitable sequels to the prequel, i will miss Roddy McDowalls voice.

Caesar lady monkey, who is his wife in the last film of the series spoke in Conquest of the Planet of the Apes at the end. I dont know if Aldo talks before her. It got really conviluted.

As I thoroughly enjoyed this new one.
The other "Planet of the Apes", that came out about 10 years ago, I did not thoroughly enjoy.
