Based on the graphic novel series of the same name, Brian Lee O'Malley's comic creation is being brought to life by the weird and wonderfful director of Shaun Of The Dead, Edgar Wright.

And from the screenwriter's geeky upbringing, he seems to have got a comic-to-film adaption down to a tee. From the teasers and trailers, this film looks absurdly and appropriately bonkers. Kevin Smith says that "the audience won't know what the f*ck just hit them", Tarantino loves it, O'Malley helped to write it... damn.

Just give this a look. Definitely the top of my list for 2010.

Oh, and read the books. Delightfully mental stuff!

I've been looking forward to this movie since a friend posted a link to an early trailer for it on Facebook. Once I have the money, I'm buying the graphic novels, definitely.

What's interesting is that they made this without the last book existing. Apparently, they got input from the author on what was supposed to happen, and put in their interpretation.

If it is as good as the trailer I saw, this will be an awesome movie.

The comics are amazing, tbh. They're just out of nowhere incredible. I'm definitely looking forward to the movie.

Yeah, Shark. Apparently the film follows volume 1 to 3 pretty tightly, and then starts going off on its own a bit more. Should be interesting.

I'm really looking forward to this!

Is this a musical or.... what??

I'd never heard of it before I saw a trailer.
I'm still psyched though, it is a boss idea for a comic / film.

I saw this on the weekend. FREAKIN' AWESOME! The music ROCKED and the humour and video game references were funny as hell. Of course, I like alternative stuff that goes contrary to the mainstream. I hope it does better at the box office, but it has some tough competition.

Cute, amusing but slightly too tragically hip for my taste. Bored of Michael Cera doing the hesitant nerd. Looks great, though. Effects are really well done. I liked that they snuck in some of the original artwork from the graphic novels.

[Keiran Culkin and Chris Evans were the highlights for me]

Fantastic movie. I understand why it wouldn't appeal to everyone, but it certainly appealed to me. If I had the money, I'd go see it again.

This movie was fun and cute and crazy.

I just let it take me wherever it wanted, and it was a nice experience.

the previews for this made it look so so so ungodly so bad to me and I'm really surprised that everyone seems to have so many good things to say about it. maybe I'll see it after all.

If you don't like the previews then you might not like the movie. It's the kind of movie you just have to empty your mind and let it take control.

Oh god this movie sucks, I know and have not even seen it. If it is anything like Paper Hearts then...
And Michael Cera is absolutely not funny.

This will probably be the next movie I see.

I agree. He and that whole crews (seth rogan or whatever) just need to f*ck off.

OH MAN ALIVE. This was fantastic! Never going to be a mainstream hit, but it was fast, funny and mind-crushingly hectic and punch-the-sky epic at all the best times.
A comic well-translated to the big screen, methinks. Edgar Wright, you done GOOD, sir!

And Cera is at least TRYING to not be "laugh at me because I'm so awkward and stuff" standard in this film. He actually has some guts when he needs them.
