The ideal then and now is petite,, but back then it seemed a softer body was more ideal and now it's more taut and hard, no fat to be seen. Supermodels have made it fashionable to be tall.
As far as face, little bowed lips aren't in fashion anymore-we preferbigger lips.
Smaller waist and bigger chest now, which is often only obtainable with plastic surgery. |

The big difference is muscle tone. it was expected in the 30's to be more soft, today the ideal is more muscular. Other than that, looks about the same except for breast size, which is slightly larger now. |

MAKE NOTE, EVERYONE!!!! See where the WAIST is? Yeah. It's STILL THERE today. Everyone thinks that hips are the waist, and it really pisses me off when I'm trying to sew stuff for people, and they wont believe me that that's where the friggin waist is! Dx I ask 'em to give me their waist measurement, and they give me their friggin hip measurement!
LEARN YOUR BODIES, PEOPLE!
Also, does anyone else notice that most models now are about 5'10" and have good sized boobs, but the same clothes they sell in stores are only for short girls with tiny breasts? I have to wear GUY'S clothes cuz everything's too short!

I wouldn't mind seeing a comparison to the ideal body type of women in ancient history compared to now. That girl looks almost exactly like women today but with a stupid haircut.
