sometimes it just gets so messy its impossible to clean up, and so it just gets worse and worse. my room should be on there! something died in here and I cant find it under any of my piles.

thats reeeaaall messy- but i have seen worse on a t.v. documentary: the old man lived on the sofa in his kitchen (i think it was his kitchen) and couldn't actually move into any of the other rooms. All of his stuff was actually exerting pressure on the walls causing big cracks in the walls of the house and the authorities were trying to get him to move; partly for his safety, but he had "his rights" or something like that.

There was a series in England a couple of years back about council workers whose jobt was to clean up houses like that to make them habitable. It was realy sad as many people living like that suffer from depression

I was working in a house just like this in East Yorkshire last week the lady was 61 and hoarded everything but the house was in a terrible state, random useless things everywhere stacked to the roof, no hot water for 2yrs, no lights in the house, plastic bags glued to cover the windows and the lady had not paid any bills for over 10 yrs. The walls were soft from water leakage and some black from the fires she'd inside the house. I've never seen anything like it before.

He could be going through a state of depression due to his wife. I had some things happen to me, and even though I thought I was perfectly fine, now that I look back on it I might have had a mild case. I let my apartment go and it was horrible, but once things gets too messy, it seems like it'll never be clean again and then it gets worse. However, I'm sure that guy would feel a lot better with a clean house. I cleaned mine out, and it definitely helped improved myself.

Reminds me of the show 'Life of Grime' with Mr.Trebus. He hadn't thrown away a single thing in about 50 years and could hardly move about the house. He use to shout at the council workers who'd come to clean it up and not let them in. Ah, Mr.Trebus R.I.P.

All I have to say is, wouldn't it have made more sense to go in and clean the house for his father instead of taking photos?
