the best comments from youtube are:

"I'd love to see this guy apply similar ideas? to the pomegranate, nature's rubics cube... "

and

"Have these two idiots, ever noticed how much a mushroom resembles? a toadstool, one of these fungi is delicious, when fried in butter (mmm!), the other very poisonous.
Doesn't it worry anyone else, that God is the kind of gardener that puts anti-freeze into old lemonade bottles?"

and of course

"Do they know that the banana, like corn, has been selectively bread for the last 10,000 or so years to be like that.?

You can still go back to the tropics and see the cousins of the original banana trees, trust me the fruit doesn't fit perfectly into the human hand."

As a member of the Youtube anti-creationist community, I've seen this very often.

As a christian who isn't a flaming retard, I hate these people. I don't even have to watch it to know what it's about. I wish they'd just all fall in the Grand Canyon or something.

He was a guest professor at the college I went to. I just happened to be in NYC that week, so I missed it. I would have been curious to hear what he had to say. While Im a creationist, and I believe in infiniate complexity...this banana thing is such a friggin load of crap and makes christians out to be insane.

Ah, I can just feel the very essence of Christian charity and goodness there.

Don't you mean irreducible complexity? And isn't that what these guys are arguing - that the banana has certain complex features that could not have come about through the randomness of evolution? Sorry, but I don't get how you can think that this is a load of crap but irreducible complexity is not...

No they are not arguing Irreducible Complexity here. They are arguing specified usability. This is the idea that God created certain things exactly how they are for human beings to use them. The banana is a HORRIBLE example of this.
An example of irreducible complexity is the cell. The nucleus, the mitochondria, the zyto plasm, all that stuff had to form at the same time or the cell would have died. Thats an example of irreducible complexity, not a banana.
Im a Christian, and a Creationist, but this vid is laughable

if that was true, by the way, biologists wouldn't be sticking with evolution as a serious model. I've seen the idea mentioned that mitochondria could even have been a separate organism like a parasite at some point in the past.

since the banana was probably first domesticated around Papua New Guinea, this is further evidence that god is black
