Free Hugs! - Mood:Happy |
|
Sunday July 06 20086:49:39 PM |
| | Yesterday was International Free Hugs Day, so me and five other friends made posters saying "Free Hugs", and took a train to Chicago. When we got there, we walked around a bit, but we mostly stayed in Millennium Park by The Bean. I had originally expected to get a lot of negative reactions and not get very many hugs, but to my surprise, we did not get any negative reactions! In fact, once we got to The Bean, we started to get a really big crowd and people were lining up to hug us. There was even a one-armed lady who came up to hug me, and once I hugged her, the whole crowd started to applaud us and take pictures. It was quite rewarding to know that we made a difference yesterday - - we put smiles on people's faces and increased the overall happiness of the people we hugged.

16 days and 21 hours - Mood:Anxious |
|
Thursday June 26 20083:25:11 PM |
| | 16 days and 21 hours until I step onto the plan to New York, where I will then step onto another plan that takes me to Israel, where I will spend 5 weeks touring and having a blast with my camp friends. I simply cannot repress my excitement, which is why I am making this journal - - my friends at home are sick of me talking about how excited I am, so now I have to come here to talk about it. Does anybody have any interesting stories about trips they took to Israel? Or any advice for me? Or any questions about my trip? |
