The first person to accuse Spacey of sexual misconduct was Anthony Rapp. An actor who a) doesn't work on House of Cards, and b) said the incident happened when he was under 18 and they were in a Broadway show together. 30 years ago.

I guess in CowDung land, it's fine to sexually harass people, or groom young teen girls, just as long as you aren't doing it at work.

Yes, that was the first person, but not the only person. I was ready to chime in on the Spacey thread, but the article mentioned that he has also been accused of sexual harassment by House of Cards castmembers...

Oh and btw, Roy Moore WAS at work when he did this. He was an assistant DA, and he saw this girl at the courthouse with her mother...for a custody hearing.

One of the other ones said he first approached her when he was at her HIGH SCHOOL, speaking to her civics class.

As far as one's job is concerned, if it doesn't happen at work, it should be none of their business.

I know that you'd like to see every child molester, rapist and nazi be permanently unemployed, but unless it concerns one's job performance, it really shouldn't be grounds for losing one's job.

But it's definitely fine and not creepy at all for a man in his 30s to establish a pattern of going after young girls. It's totally appropriate for him to be a U.S. senator.

'serial predator'?

I thought you said earlier that only one underage person has stepped forward with an accusation against him...

Might be creepy, but has nothing to do with one's ability to legislate.

You should really read the article.

So again: "Guys, I know he groomed young teen girls and tried to f*ck them, but listen: tax cuts for rich people."
I would comment on moral leadership meaning nothing to you, but you voted for Trump, so I already know that to be true.

And you keep saying he shouldn't LOSE his job. I keep telling you he doesn't have the job yet.

There aren't any current allegations that I know of, but I wonder if you realize that senate pages (the gophers that run around on the floor, bringing papers and stuff to the legislators) are all pretty much high school kids. Knowing his history, is it appropriate for him to be in close contact with 14-16 year old girls on a daily basis? I don't think so.

Which is why the lack of current allegations is important.

I was going by what Rik mentioned a couple pages ago. One of the accusers was underage at the time of the alleged incident...

There are multiple accusers. Only one of which would be a legal problem, but all of which could be moral issues as they were high school students.

I said under the age of consent. Not non-units.

I think I said something more along the lines of this:

OK- - 'under the age of consent' rather than 'underage'. Only one was under the age of consent, right?

Also I always encourage reading of the articles, I am not infallible.

If I make a mistake I welcome being called on it, can fix myself if I don’t know where I screwed up.

Also, it establishes a clear pattern.
Meeting *one* person who is significantly younger than you, and having a relationship with them, is not necessarily weird or creepy.
Consistently going after extremely young women (or girls - I really don't care if the age of consent is 16, if you're picking up girls when you, a grown-ass man, go speak to their high school classes, that's f*cking gross and creepy) is something else entirely.
10 days ago - Thursday 11/9/17 - 6:16:33 PM EST (GMT-5)
It's like adult men who count down to actresses' 18th birthdays. Or who start talking to/building "relationships" with girls before they're 18, and just wait on having sex with them until after their birthdays so they can "keep it legal." Dude, you're still disgusting and predatory.
10 days ago - Thursday 11/9/17 - 6:19:06 PM EST (GMT-5)
Correct, age of consent in Alabama is 16, even today.

One of the accusers was 14 and claims she was taken to his house where he touched her over her underwater and lead her hands to touch his genitals

If true it violates the child enticement statue and because of her age does not have a statute of limitations.

Not saying he will be, but could be prosecuted.

We’ll see what happens.

Yup.

Yeah but you can’t get in legal trouble for disgusting. It is absolutely worrying behavior. I agree it establishes a pattern.

I would not be surprised to hear of more aligations though.

This took like a month of investigation by journalists before the people were willing to go on the record. People are going through the rest of his history with a fine tooth comb.

Well, you can if it's deemed grooming, which my second example would be.

I wouldn't hold my breath for him to get in any legal trouble. The accuser is already being dragged through the mud by people claiming she's lying, she's a secret democrat operative, she's being paid by the DNC, all kinds of stuff. A trial of any kind would just mean more negative attention for her, with definitely no guarantee of a positive legal outcome. Ever thus in sexual assault cases, and we wonder why women are reluctant to come forward.
