I'm wrapping and labeling the Christmas gifts for my family.
I'm about halfway done and realized... should i be signing them frim both me and my husband instead of just me like i have been? On one hand, it's my family and it's from me and not really him but we ARE married and all and share finances and such. And stuff signed from my mom and stepdad, my stepdad had no idea what "he" got us kids even when we were very not kids anymore. But we are his kids. Whereas, is a shirt i got for my mom, necklaces i got for my sister from both of us? Stuff from my sister to me isn't from her and her husband, just her.

What do you do? Do you sign from both of you if you are married? For everyone or certain people? At what point do you start?

Being married is complicated

We generally sign things as being from the both of us.

But it's a complicated situation because my husband's cousin always gets us a gift from her and her boyfriend even though we don't know him that well. And buying a gift from her it feels like I'm compelled to get them a couple gift instead of something just for her.

yeah it should be from both of you, unless he's getting them other things himself

Sorry, that should say buying a gift for her.

There were a lot of things I thought would make a good gift for her, but they were very her exclusive and since they always give us a mutual gift, I felt like we should do the same. And since I don't know him really, I don't know what to get him by himself.

We ended up getting them a cocoa gift set.

But to be honest, I wasn't going to get anybody Christmas gifts this year. So although it's just a little something, I'm proud of myself for getting gifts for everybody.

The only person left on my list is my husband.

Same here.
Either list everyone in the household or from _____'s family.

Not married, but my mom started a thing a long time ago where cards are signed by her and all her pets' names, too.
Now I do that too. It's fun and everyone in my household is included.

so, yeah, kinda different but same premise. The gifts are from your whole (2 people) family now.

Yeah, same. Anyone who contributes financially or makes up the household gets on the gift tag, imho.

Depends for us. I sign them from both of to my dad, grandma, his mom etc. But not my sister. And his brothers get a gift specifically for me and I get them one specifically for them.

In cards I write from the three of us (me, husband and baby)

But last year and this year for Christmas tags I just write the baby's name since it's only three letters.... but that's for my family.
For my husbands family is write his name first, then me and baby.
For my friends gifts I write my name first.
(There's a few with same names so it's easy to tell which Sarah it's going to)

Oh for my friends I only write my name. Unless it's something he has picked out or something.
