So I am thinking about different tattoos to get after I turn 18. Any suggestions?

I know I want a feather on my hand, around the curve where my index finger and thumb connect...but I am also thinking of getting the caribou in the 2nd picture down.

Do you have any tattoos? Pictures or else they don't exist.

I've also been looking at ugliesttattoos, and I am a little horrified...

yeah, wait until you're at least 25, and don't get anything you can't easily cover up

No tattoos here. I'm not the type to get a tattoo for the sake of it. If something struck me as like, a really important piece of imagery to my life, then I'd get it tattooed.

I once thought I wanted a tattoo of the earth with clock hands on it.

THUG LIFE, block letters, forehead

I'd advise against anything that can't be covered up if you plan on joining like the average joe workforce.
Employers don't like tattoos
That's not to say ALL possible employers don't like them, but I know there are people who are bigoted douches and I guess tattoo=criminal.

So it's best to err on the safe side and just get it somewhere that can't be seen.

I got this 6 months ago. I'm so proud of it =3.

I definately do not reccomend getting hand tattoo's.
Like everyone else has said, it's better to get something that can be covered up if needed.
I have 5 I can't be arsed looking for photo's I have of them. All but one is covered when I'm at work because I have one on my forearm.
I have plans for 2 more if I ever get the money up for them.

Hence "After I turn 18"

It's not like I am going to get one on my eighteenth birthday or anything.

If I got the caribou, it would be either on my forearm of shoulder.

or shoulder*

Don't do it. Express your individuality in a less stereotypical way.

You know what you call people with tattoos they can't cover?

Unemployable.

I plan on getting a leg piece.
It's gonna happen this next year before I head off on my grand adventure.
I've had it planned for years but didn't want it until I was absolutely sure.
9 yrs ago - Sunday 11/6/11 - 5:39:37 PM EST (GMT-5)
I got mine because I've wanted that one since forever, and I just turned 18 and it was like my way of showing myself I had complete control over my body.

It was a fxcking rush to be honest. If I had more money I'd have a shxt ton more by now xD.

See I have agree with this and at the same time don't.
I have a small tattoo on my inner forarm that unless I always wear long sleeves it's visible, but it's tiny and non-offensive.
Things like tattoo's all over the hands or neck or face I don't like though.
I have a mate who has 2 full sleeve tattoo's and has always worked in corporate environments, mainly advertising.

Getting tattoo's isn't nessisarily a way of expressing "individuality" especially in this day and age.

It's always just seemed pointless to me, but I tend not to understand a lot of trends.

tattoos kinda shook off that whole trend thing a few hundred years ago

If you need suggestions from internet people (or anyone for that matter) I would recommend not getting one.

Seriously, this is on you forever, if you are going to get something, get something YOU truly want. And dont get a tattoo just for the sake of having a tattoo, because you will probably end up with whatever the current cliche trend is (ie: stars, hearts, dolphins, roses...) and you will look retarded.

Do you have a picture of this feather tattoo you want on your hand? Because Im trying to picture it in my head and it looks pretty dumb.

I'm planning on getting a rose in one of my next tattoo's.
It's quite a specific rose mind you but it's still a rose.

Make your first tattoo small and use light colors.

Then in five years when you're embarrassed, you can cover it up with something slightly larger and slightly darker colored.

Repeat every five years.

Pete Rose?

My suggestion is don't get one. Really, think about the amount of money they cost, and the fact that you can usually fininance a really smash up vacation for the same price. Almost all the people I know who have tattoos got them before 2007. I only know 2 guys with tattoos that were done after that, and they usually regretted not having the cash shortly thereafter.
