LOL, No Balls out poor. But at the time all of my spare money went to ciggs a alcohol (as I was indeed an alcoholic). So I really only had two places to spend my spare money.

I enjoy biking more than running, more because I feel I can bike anywhere, I used to do cross country pretty well, but I'd twist stuff a lot

I used to twist my right ankle all the time. and I developed a bad pain in my right leg, and went to the podiatrist and found out I was missing a ligament to hold my foot in place. Had surgery and got some dead dude's ligament which he was kind enough to provide and I've been tip-top since!

Every time I try and do something active (jogging, playing sport etc) I seem to strain a muscle in the arch of my left foot.
I wonder if I've done something to permanently damage it, or whether I just haven't learnt from past mistakes...

Have you ever tried to jog barefoot? I am a huge advocate of barefoot running, shoes are HORRIBLE and I cannot stress this enough, F*CKING HORRIBLE, for your running form. try running barefoot in grass or on a soft surface for a while, and then move to pavement if you feel comfortable. you may find that your foot feels better.

lol I always run/walk/play sport barefoot (that's what most people keep blaming this injury on - but they're not doctors)

They have barefoot shoes that are meant to protect you from rocks and glass and stuff... that might be an option, too.

I've named my ligament Fred. I prefer to refer to it as Zombie ligament, as it IS the living dead.

How can you be barefoot if you're wearing shoes?
